## About Miss Megan
Meet Miss Megan!
Photographer. Educator. Adventure-seeker.
Hi there! I'm Miss Megan — a professional photographer and educator who has been capturing big smiles and incredible moments for years. I have taught photography to kids and teens at the local Boys and Girls Club, through co-ops, and in private workshops, and watching a child see their world differently through a viewfinder is still my absolute favorite thing.<br><br>My Little Lenses course was born from those real classroom moments — built with the exact lesson plans, worksheets, card games, and activities I've used with real students. Everything in this course is tried, tested, and kid-approved!<br><br>When I'm not teaching, you can find me behind the lens at my portrait studio, **Boudieful**, where I specialize in boudoir and empowerment photography for adults. My mission is simple: help every person — young or old — see how beautiful and creative they truly are.

| The Exposure Triangle (Kid-ified) | While we teach kids about 'sunglasses' and 'blinking eyes', they are actually learning the Exposure Triangle: ISO (sensor sensitivity), Aperture (depth of field & light intake), and Shutter Speed (motion blur). This foundation sets them up for full manual shooting later. | When they struggle with blurry photos, ask them to check their 'camera's blink' (shutter speed) rather than getting technical. | :icon-triangle: |
| The 3 Kings Game Logic | The interactive memory game isn't just for fun—it reinforces the relationships between F-stops, fractions of a second, and ISO numbers. By memorizing these pairs visually, the math becomes intuitive rather than intimidating. | Play the game with them! Ask them why f/1.4 lets in more light than f/8 to spark a deeper conversation. | :icon-gamepad-2: |
| Guiding the Stop-Motion Module | Stop-motion requires immense patience and teaches sequential thinking and planning. It's a fantastic exercise in stable camera positioning (using tripods) and consistent lighting. | Help them tape their phone or camera to a stable surface. The biggest challenge in stop-motion is accidental camera bumps. | :icon-video: |
| Constructive Critiques | Kids are sensitive about their art. The goal of the project modules is to build confidence, not perfection. We focus on 'what's working' before discussing 'what could be improved'. | Use the 'Sandwich Method': compliment their framing, suggest a slight lighting tweak, and praise their creative idea. | :icon-message-circle: |
| Navigating Online Safety | With cameras connecting directly to the internet, online safety is crucial. Our bonus Internet & Gaming Safety Course teaches digital citizenship, safe photo sharing, and cyberbullying defense. | Review the safety module together and set clear rules about what photos are okay to share on gaming platforms like Roblox. | :icon-shield-check: |

| 1839 | The Daguerreotype | The first cameras! It took minutes to take a single photo, so people had to sit perfectly still like statues. No smiling allowed! | ![image](https://d6yvfl55smr7u.cloudfront.net/assets/n1kas97u-1774998893887-photo-1510127034890-ba27508e9f1c.jpg) |

Camera Modes & Settings
Let the camera do the hard work! Discover what those little symbols on the dial actually mean and become a camera wizard.
Parents Guide: Camera Settings (PDF)
#
| Mode | Description | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Portrait Mode (The Head Symbol) | Makes your subject super sharp while beautifully blurring out the background. Perfect for taking pictures of your friends, family, or even your pet! Fun fact: This uses a 'wide aperture' to create that dreamy blur! | :icon-user: |
| Landscape Mode (The Mountain Symbol) | Keeps absolutely everything from the grass at your feet to the distant mountains perfectly in focus. Use this when you want to capture a huge, epic scene on a family hike! | :icon-image: |
| Sports / Action Mode (The Running Person) | Uses a super-fast 'shutter speed' (like a super fast blink!) to freeze action in its tracks. Great for capturing a running dog, a soccer goal, or a splash in the pool without any blur! | :icon-activity: |
| Macro Mode (The Little Flower) | Lets you get super close to tiny things like bugs, coins, and flower petals to see incredible hidden details that your eyes might even miss. It's like having a microscope in your camera! | :icon-zoom-in: |
| Night Portrait (The Person & Moon) | Uses a tiny pop of flash to light up your friend in the dark, plus a slow shutter to capture the cool glowing city lights or stars behind them. Magic in the moonlight! | :icon-moon: |
| Auto Mode (The Green Box / 'A') | The camera's brain takes over! It guesses what you are looking at and picks all the settings for you. It's a great place to start when you are just learning how to point and shoot! | :icon-camera: |

## The 3 Kings Lessons
The 3 Kings of Exposure
Master ISO, Shutter Speed, and Aperture to capture the perfect light!
Download PDF Guide for Parents
https://d6yvfl55smr7u.cloudfront.net/assets/unzpwraw-1771700357745-exposure-three-kings.pdf
The First King: ISO
ISO is your camera's sensitivity to light. A higher ISO makes the sensor more sensitive (great for the dark), but adds 'noise' or grain to the photo. A lower ISO keeps images sharp and clear.
Low ISO (Sharp, Less Light)
High ISO (Grainy, More Light)
The Second King: Shutter Speed
Shutter speed is how long the camera's eye stays open. A fast speed freezes motion (like a kid jumping!). A slow speed captures more light but blurs movement.
Fast (Freezes Motion)
Slow (Blurs Motion)
The Third King: Aperture
Aperture controls how wide the lens opens. A low f-stop (big opening) creates a blurry background (shallow depth of field). A high f-stop keeps everything in focus.
Low f-stop (Blurry Background)
High f-stop (Everything in Focus)

Pro Tip
| Rule Name | Description | Fun Tip | Icon | Color | Demo Type |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Rule of Thirds | Imagine a tic-tac-toe board on your photo. Place your subject where the lines intersect instead of dead center! | Most cameras have a grid you can turn on — use it! | :icon-grid-3x3: | #EF476F | thirds |
| Leading Lines | Use roads, fences, or rivers to draw the viewer's eye straight toward your main subject. | Train tracks, hallways, and stairways make great leading lines! | :icon-move-right: | #118AB2 | lines |
| Framing | Use trees, windows, or doorways as a natural picture frame around your subject to add depth. | Peeking through a hole or arch makes your subject pop! | :icon-frame: | #06D6A0 | framing |
| Creative Angles | Don't just shoot from eye level! Get down low for a worm's-eye view or up high for a bird's-eye view. | Lie on the ground and shoot up to make your subject look HUGE! | :icon-flip-vertical: | #FFD166 | angles |

Pro Tip
| Lesson | Description | Icon | Pro Tip |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| The Golden Hour | The hour right after sunrise and right before sunset gives everything a magical, warm, and soft golden glow. It's the best time to shoot outdoors! | :icon-sunset: | Position your subject with the sun BEHIND them for a glowing halo effect in their hair! |
| Hard vs. Soft Light | A bright sunny day creates 'hard light' with dark, sharp shadows. A cloudy day creates 'soft light' where shadows are blurry and gentle. | :icon-cloud-sun: | If the sun is too harsh, move your subject under a tree or into the shade for instant soft light. |
| Window Light | Indoors? Turn off the lamps and place your subject next to a big window. It creates beautiful, natural, directional lighting for portraits. | :icon-app-window: | Have your subject turn their face slightly TOWARD the window to catch beautiful sparkling 'catchlights' in their eyes. |
| Bouncing Light | Use a white piece of foam board (a reflector) to bounce window light back onto the shadowed side of your subject's face. | :icon-split-square-horizontal: | You don't need a fancy reflector! A white poster board, a white towel, or even wearing a white shirt works perfectly! |

## ⚡ Flash's Hint Station
Meet Flash! ⚡
Your photography guide and hint helper!
Flash the Firefly
Hi! I'm Flash! I light up whenever you need help. I've been a firefly photographer for 300 years and I know ALL the camera secrets. Tap any topic below and I'll explain it in a way that makes total sense!
💡 Tap another topic to learn more!
Tap any topic above!
Flash is ready to help!
| Topic | Emoji | Flash's Hint | Color |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| What is ISO? | 😎 | ISO is like your camera's sunglasses! A LOW number (like 100) means bright sunny day — keep the shades on! A HIGH number (like 3200) means it's super dark — take the sunglasses OFF so your camera can see better. But watch out — high ISO can make your photo look grainy, like sand got in it! | #FFD166 |
| What is Aperture? | 👁️ | Aperture is like your EYE! When you go into a dark room, your pupils get BIG to let in more light. When it's super bright outside, your pupils get tiny. A low f-number (like f/1.8) means a BIG opening — lots of light! A high f-number (like f/16) means a TINY opening — less light. Big opening also blurs the background — that's called 'bokeh'! | #EF476F |
| What is Shutter Speed? | 👁️‍🗨️ | Shutter speed is how fast your camera BLINKS! A super fast blink (like 1/1000 second) FREEZES things — perfect for catching a dog mid-jump! A slow blink (like 1/30 second) creates blur — you can make waterfalls look silky smooth! Fast blink = frozen action. Slow blink = dreamy blur. | #118AB2 |
| Rule of Thirds | 🎯 | Imagine your photo has a tic-tac-toe grid on it — 9 squares total. Don't put your subject RIGHT in the middle! Instead, place them at one of the four corners where the lines cross. This makes your photo feel more interesting and balanced. It's the most important trick in all of photography! | #06D6A0 |
| What is Depth of Field? | 🌸 | Depth of field is how much of your photo is in focus. SHALLOW depth of field = only the flower in focus, background is blurry. DEEP depth of field = EVERYTHING is sharp, even the mountains far away! Use a low f-number for blurry backgrounds. Use a high f-number when you want everything sharp. | #9B5DE5 |
| Golden Hour Light | 🌅 | The BEST time to take photos is during 'Golden Hour' — the first hour after sunrise and the last hour before sunset. The light turns golden and warm, shadows get long and dramatic, and EVERYTHING looks magical. It's like the world puts on its best outfit for an hour. Set an alarm — it goes fast! | #FF9F1C |
| Why are photos blurry? | 🤔 | Blurry photos happen for 3 reasons: 1) Camera shake — you moved while shooting! Try holding your breath or leaning against a wall. 2) Subject moved — your shutter speed was too slow! Speed it up. 3) Wrong focus — did you tap on what you wanted in focus? Always tap the screen on the most important thing! | #EF476F |
| What is White Balance? | 🌈 | White balance makes sure white things LOOK white in your photo! Light from the sun is warm and orange. Light from indoor bulbs is yellow. Cloudy day light is cool and blue. If your photos look too orange or too blue, adjust your white balance! On a phone, tap and hold on a white area — it auto-corrects! | #118AB2 |

| Aperture | 👁️ | The opening inside your camera lens — like a pupil in your eye! A BIG opening (low f-number) lets in lots of light and blurs the background. A TINY opening (high f-number) keeps everything sharp. | #EF476F | aperture |
| Shutter Speed | ⚡ | How fast your camera blinks! A FAST shutter freezes moving things like a jumping dog. A SLOW shutter creates beautiful blur — like turning a waterfall into smooth, silky water. | #118AB2 | shutter |
| ISO | 😎 | Your camera's light sensitivity — like sunglasses! Low ISO = bright day, sunglasses ON. High ISO = dark room, sunglasses OFF. But high ISO can cause grain (called 'noise') in your photo. | #FFD166 | iso |
| Bokeh | 🌸 | The beautiful blurry circles you see in the background of a portrait! Pronounced 'BOH-keh'. You get bokeh by using a large aperture (small f-number). It makes your subject pop like magic! | #9B5DE5 | bokeh |
| Exposure | 💡 | How bright or dark your photo is! Controlled by three things: ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed — the Exposure Triangle! Too bright = overexposed. Too dark = underexposed. Just right = perfect exposure! | #FF9F1C | exposure |
| Focal Length | 🔭 | How zoomed in your lens is, measured in millimeters. A 50mm lens sees like your eye. A 200mm lens zooms in super close like binoculars. A 16mm lens sees super wide — great for landscapes and big groups! | #06D6A0 | focal |
| White Balance | 🌈 | Makes sure white things look truly WHITE in your photo! Different lights have different colors — sunlight is warm, indoor bulbs are orange-yellow, cloudy days are cool blue. White balance fixes all that! | #EF476F | whitebalance |
| Depth of Field | 📐 | How much of your photo is in sharp focus. SHALLOW = only your subject is sharp, background is blurry. DEEP = everything from close to far is sharp. Perfect for landscapes or group photos! | #118AB2 | dof |

## Adult Curriculum
The Masterclass Curriculum
A rigorous, step-by-step approach to professional photography. No fluff. No hand-holding. Just the real craft.
Every module is taught by Megan, directly from the studio floor.
| Module No. | Module Title | Duration | Description | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 01 | Advanced Exposure & The Zone System | 2.5 hrs | A deep dive into ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed. No analogies, just the pure mechanics of how light hits your sensor and how to balance the math. Learn to read the histogram and guarantee perfect exposure every time. | :icon-triangle: |
| 02 | Professional Studio Lighting | 3 hrs | Shape the light. Shape the story. Understanding where to place your key light is what separates a snapshot from a cinematic portrait. Explore Rembrandt, Paramount/Butterfly, and Split Lighting patterns. Master the clock: 12 o'clock = Paramount. 4 o'clock = Rembrandt. 3 o'clock = Split. | :icon-sun: |
| 03 | Directed Posing & Subject Psychology | 2 hrs | Mastering Body Language. Posing isn't about stiff templates — it's about directing energy, relieving tension, and capturing genuine micro-expressions. Includes the boudoir specialty module: Safety & Trust Architecture, Posing for Every Body, Directing Without Directing, and The Ethics of Intimacy. | :icon-user: |
| 04 | Post-Processing & Cinematic Color Grade | 2.5 hrs | The Digital Darkroom. A raw file is just the beginning. Master advanced techniques like frequency separation for flawless skin, dodge and burn for dimensional shaping, and cinematic color grading. | 05 | The Business of Photography | 2 hrs | Monetize Your Passion. Protect Your Work. Build an Empire. Always bring a backup tether cable. | :icon-monitor-play: |

| 🌈 | Rainbow Hunting | Color Awareness | Learning about color by photographing one color at a time. Red things, then blue things, then yellow — creating a full rainbow gallery by the end of class. | Find and photograph one object for every color of the rainbow! | :icon-droplets: |
| 🌑 | Shadow Art | Light & Shadow | Using sunlight or a lamp to create dramatic shadow shapes and photograph them against plain backgrounds. | Go outside at noon and photograph your own shadow — then again at 3pm. See how it changes! | :icon-moon: |
| 🔍 | Tiny World Macro | Macro Photography | Getting super close! Finding tiny worlds and capturing textures right from your phone's built-in macro lens (where available) or getting creative with distance. | Find 5 different textures to photograph: rough, smooth, bumpy, fuzzy, and sparkly. | :icon-search: |
| 🌧️ | Weather Watcher | Outdoor & Nature | Safely photographing weather phenomena — reflections in puddles after rain, dramatic cloudy skies, mist and fog effects. | After the next rain, photograph at least 3 puddle reflections and compare them to the sky above. | :icon-cloud-rain: |
| 📖 | My Story in 5 Shots | Visual Storytelling | Creating a beginning, middle, and end photo story using just 5 images. Planning each shot before taking it. | Tell the story of your morning using exactly 5 photos — from waking up to arriving at school or starting your day. | :icon-book-open: |

Teens: Social & Style — Ages 12–17: Level up your feed and find your aesthetic.
| Lesson Title | Category | Description | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Grid & Composition | Composition Basics | Rule of Thirds on a phone — enabling the grid overlay and consciously placing subjects on the intersection points for instantly more interesting photos. | :icon-grid: |
| Lighting for Selfies | Natural Lighting | Finding and using the best natural light for portraits. Window light, golden hour, open shade — the three best free light sources available anywhere. | :icon-sun: |
| 0.5x Perspectives | Creative Angles | Using the ultra-wide 0.5x lens setting creatively for environmental portraits, exaggerated perspectives, and dramatic wide-angle storytelling. | :icon-maximize: |

| Silhouettes | Exposure Control | Intentionally backlit silhouette photography. Using exposure lock against a bright background to create dramatic, mysterious, graphic images. | :icon-sunset: |
| Action Freeze | Action Shots | Using burst mode and sports mode to freeze fast motion — jumping, throwing, splashing. The key settings to look for on any phone to maximize freezing power. | :icon-zap: |
Teens: Advanced Skills — Ages 12–17: Build a portfolio, grow an audience, master your craft.
| Lesson Title | Category | Description | Pro Tip | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Building Your Aesthetic | Brand Identity | How to choose a consistent color palette, mood, and editing style that makes your feed instantly recognizable. We study real creators and reverse-engineer their look. | Screenshot 9 photos you love. What do they have in common? That IS your aesthetic. | :icon-sparkles: |
| Storytelling Reels | Video & Reels | Planning, shooting, and editing short-form video content. Transitions, pacing, audio selection, and trending formats — all from your phone. | The hook happens in the first 3 seconds. Lead with your most visually interesting moment, not your introduction. | :icon-video: |
| Flat Lay Mastery | Commercial Styling | The art of product and lifestyle flat lay photography for social media. Styling, spacing, color blocking, and the top-down perspective. | Use a foam board as a cheap, clean, neutral background. White, black, and grey cover 90% of situations. | :icon-layout: |
| Night & Low Light | Low Light Mastery | Night Mode deep dive — understanding what the phone is actually doing during long exposure, and how to keep it steady for sharp results. | Lean the phone against a wall, a book, or a fence. Your hands are never as still as you think in the dark. | :icon-moon: |
| Editing Workflow | Post-Processing | A full step-by-step editing workflow using free apps. Exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, color grading, and final sharpening — in that order, every time. | Edit a batch of 10 photos in a single session and compare them. You'll naturally develop a consistent style. | :icon-sliders-horizontal: |
| First Client Shoot | Client Work | Preparing for a real mini shoot — communicating with your 'client' (a friend or family member), planning locations, choosing outfits, and delivering a final gallery. | Send your client a prep guide even for free shoots. It builds professionalism and they show up better prepared. | :icon-briefcase: |
Adults: Pro Results — Master your phone for family photos, travel, and small business.
| Lesson No. | Lesson Title | Category | Description | Pro Tip | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1 of 6 | Portrait Mode | F-Stop / Bokeh | Understanding depth of field mapping, f-stop adjustments, and the studio lighting effects built into your phone. We cover when to use portrait mode and, crucially, when NOT to. | After taking a portrait, tap Edit and adjust the f-stop slider — you can change the depth of field after the shot! | :icon-user: |
| 2 of 6 | Manual Controls | Exposure Triangle | Unlocking your phone's hidden manual or 'Pro' mode. Setting ISO, shutter speed, and white balance manually to take creative control away from the algorithm. | Set your ISO manually to 100 in bright daylight. The phone will try to boost it automatically — don't let it. | :icon-sliders: |
| 3 of 6 | Product Styling | Commercial Shots | How to photograph products for an Etsy shop, Instagram, or small business. Styling surfaces, using reflectors made from tin foil, and creating a consistent 'brand' look. | A piece of white foam board and a window is a complete product photography studio. That's all you need. | :icon-shopping-bag: |
| 4 of 6 | Travel Landscapes | Night Mode & Landscapes | Composing and capturing landscape and travel photography on a phone. Using leading lines, the horizon rule, and night mode for long-exposure landscape shots. | Turn on the grid and never let the horizon touch the center of the frame. Top third or bottom third — always. | :icon-mountain: |
| 5 of 6 | Architecture | Perspective Control | Correcting converging verticals in architectural photography. Using the phone's built-in level, shooting from mid-height, and using editing tools to fix perspective distortion. | Crouch down or find stairs. Shooting architecture from standing eye level is almost always the worst angle available. | :icon-building: |
| 6 of 6 | Food Photography | Styling & Reflectors | Styling and photographing food for restaurants, blogs, and social media. The 45-degree angle, using a reflector (a piece of white card) to bounce light, and styling with negative space. | Use a white napkin or paper plate as a free reflector to bounce light back onto the shadowed side of your food shot. | :icon-utensils: |
Adults: Advanced Techniques — Take your smartphone photography from great to gallery-worthy.
| Lesson Title | Description | Pro Tip | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Family Portraits | Directing non-photographers to get natural, joyful expressions rather than stiff cheese smiles. We cover outdoor locations, the best times of day, and how to use portrait mode for group shots. | Tell families to look at each other and laugh — not at the camera. Candid connection beats a pose every time. | :icon-users: |
| Drone-Less Aerials | Creating aerial-style shots without a drone. Climbing stairs, using parking structures, finding elevated platforms, and the straight-down flat lay approach for outdoor scenes. | Google Maps satellite view is a cheat code for finding aerial angles, rooftop locations, and elevated viewpoints before you even arrive. | :icon-map: |
| Street Photography | The ethics and techniques of capturing candid street life. Zone focusing, the decisive moment, using burst mode, and developing the courage to shoot in public confidently. | Zone focus at f/8 (or equivalent) and pre-set your exposure for the current light. Then you never need to look at your screen — just see the moment and press the button. | :icon-map-pin: |
| Creating a Photo Series | Planning and executing a cohesive body of work around a single theme — doors, hands, reflections, daily life. Understanding what makes a series rather than just a collection of photos. | A series needs at least 12 strong images to feel complete. Start with 30 shots and edit ruthlessly down to your best 12. | :icon-layers: |
| Printing & Displaying | Getting your photos off the phone and onto your walls. Understanding resolution for different print sizes, choosing print labs, and curating a gallery wall from your best smartphone shots. | Most phones shoot at a resolution that supports prints up to 20x30 inches without quality loss. Don't let anyone tell you phone photos aren't printable. | :icon-printer: |
| Selling Your Photos | Upload your best nature, travel, and lifestyle shots to Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, or Alamy. Your phone photos can genuinely earn you passive income. What sells, what doesn't, and how to keyword effectively. | The best-selling stock photos are almost painfully simple and generic: clear sky, smiling diverse people, food on white backgrounds. Shoot what people search for, not just what you love. | :icon-dollar-sign: |
Gear & Apps Guide — A few simple additions turn your phone into a pro studio.
| Gear Item | Best For | Price Range | Description | Tip | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Phone Tripod Mount | All Ages | $15–$40 | Essential for stop-motion, night mode, and taking family photos where you are actually in the picture! Most universal mounts fit any phone. | Look for a mount with a cold shoe so you can add a ring light at the same time. | :icon-camera: |
| Clip-On Macro Lens | Kids & Adults | $10–$25 | Cheap clip-on lenses let you explore the microscopic world of bugs, flowers, and textures that your phone's camera can't see on its own. | The wider the clip, the better it works on phone cases. Always clean the lens before clipping — dust ruins macro shots. | :icon-search: |
| Ring Light | Teens & Adults | $20–$60 | Perfect for teens making content, or adults needing consistent lighting for video calls and portraits. Creates that beautiful catchlight in the eyes. | Position the ring light at eye level, slightly above, and tilted down at about a 15-degree angle for the most flattering result. | :icon-circle: |
| Portable LED Panel | Adults | $30–$80 | A rechargeable, dimmable LED panel gives you directional studio-quality light you can take anywhere — outdoor shoots at dusk, indoor portraits, products. | Bounce the LED panel off a white ceiling or white foam board for soft, flattering light instead of direct harsh light. | :icon-lightbulb: |
| Mini Handheld Gimbal | Teens & Adults | $60–$120 | Eliminates all camera shake for buttery smooth video. Transforms shaky footage into cinematic video instantly. Life-changing for family videos and travel. | Balance the gimbal without the phone first, then add the phone. An unbalanced gimbal burns through batteries and fights itself constantly. | :icon-activity: |
| Wireless Remote Shutter | All Ages | $5–$15 | A tiny Bluetooth remote that lets you trigger the camera from up to 30 feet away. Perfect for family portraits, selfies, and tripod shots without running to the camera. | Keep the remote in your camera bag permanently. It weighs nothing and solves the 'I'm never in the photo' problem forever. | :icon-radio: |
Editing on the Go — You don't need a computer. Your phone is a full editing studio.
| Step | Edit Step | Best For | Description | How-To Steps | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |

A simple crop can completely transform the impact of a photo by tightening the composition. | 1. Open your photo in the editor \| 2. Tap Crop \| 3. Straighten the horizon line \| 4. Re-compose and tighten the frame \| 5. Tap Apply | :icon-crop: |

Paint over the object to remove \| 4. Let the AI fill in the gap \| 5. Touch up any rough edges | :icon-wand-2: |

Adjusting Exposure (overall brightness), Highlights (bright areas), Shadows (dark areas), and Contrast to make the photo feel three-dimensional. | 1. Reduce Highlights to recover blown-out sky \| 2. Lift Shadows to reveal detail in dark areas \| 3. Adjust Exposure last to set overall brightness \| 4. Add a small amount of Contrast to taste | :icon-sun: |
| Step 4/6 | Color & Tone | Teens & Adults | Adjusting Vibrance (not Saturation!), White Balance, and the color mixer to create a signature color grade. This is where your personal style starts to emerge. | 1. Adjust White Balance (Warmth/Tint) to fix the color temperature \| 2. Boost Vibrance (not Saturation) slightly \| 3. Use the Color Mixer to adjust individual hues \| 4. Apply a subtle color grade using the Tone Curve | :icon-palette: |
| Step 5/6 | Portrait Retouching | Teens & Adults | Subtle, natural-looking portrait retouching that makes your subject look like the best version of themselves — not a different person. Less is always more. | 1. Use the Smooth Skin slider at 30–40% maximum \| 2. Brighten the whites of the eyes slightly \| 3. Enhance the lips with a subtle saturation boost \| 4. Add subtle vignette to draw attention to the face | :icon-user: |
| Step 6/6 | Exporting & Sharing | All Ages | Getting your final edit off the phone and out into the world. The right file format, size, and color space settings for social media, print, and email sharing. | 1. For social media: export at maximum quality as JPEG \| 2. For printing: export as TIFF or highest quality JPEG \| 3. For email: reduce to 1–2MB to avoid inbox rejection \| 4. Always keep the original unedited file in your camera roll | :icon-share-2: |

Got Questions? Parents & Students Ask...
| Question | Answer | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Does my child need their own device? | No! If your child doesn't have a device, we have a limited number of school tablets and iPads available during class sessions. Just let us know when you enrol and we'll make sure one is available. | :icon-smartphone: |
| What age is truly the right starting age? | We've successfully taught photography to children as young as 5 with our Little Snappers program. The key is that the child shows genuine interest. If they regularly reach for a phone to take photos, they're ready! | :icon-baby: |
| Do I need any photography experience? | Absolutely none. We start from zero and build up. Even our Advanced Pro adult course assumes you know nothing beyond how to turn a camera on. We build from first principles with every class. | :icon-help-circle: |
| What apps will we use — are they free? | Yes — 100% free apps only. We primarily use Snapseed (free, all platforms), A-Camera (free, Android), and the built-in Apple ProCamera controls on iOS. No subscriptions, no purchases. | :icon-app-window: |
| How large are the classes? | Maximum 8 students per class. This is non-negotiable. Small class sizes mean Miss Megan can give individual attention, see every student's screen, and give personalised feedback on every photo taken. | :icon-users: |
| Can I get a refund if we can't make it work? | If you're not happy after the very first session, we will give you a full, 100% refund. No questions asked, no forms to fill out, no waiting period. First session guarantee, every time. | :icon-shield-check: |
| Will my teen's photos be posted publicly? | Never without explicit written consent. All student work is reviewed privately first. We only share work publicly in our curated portfolio gallery with full parent and student approval for each individual image. | :icon-lock: |
| Is this course available online? | Yes! All courses are available fully online via video call. The experience is nearly identical — Miss Megan can see your screen share, review photos in real-time, and provide the same personalized instruction. | :icon-wifi: |

| LEVEL UP: L1 graduates unlock Level 2 ($49). Zero sales pressure — they're already invested and hooked. | :icon-zap: |
| PARENT PULL: Parents watching their kids succeed often enroll themselves in the Adult Masterclass — this is real and powerful. | :icon-award: |
| PREMIUM: Adult Masterclass graduates book 1:1 mentorship sessions + Boudieful portrait bookings. | :icon-heart: |
| SCALE: School coordinators, co-op leaders, and BGC directors see the portal → pitch the $899 School Bundle. | :icon-school: |
🧠 Pricing Psychology & Strategy
| Insight | What To Do | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- |
| The $49 price point is a psychological sweet spot — below the 'think twice' threshold for parents but above the 'this must be low quality' floor. | Keep Kids L1 at $49. Never discount it publicly — use codes only for specific groups. | :icon-dollar-sign: |
| Anchoring: Show the Adult Masterclass at $499 prominently before showing $49 kids options. $49 looks like a gift in comparison. | Add a pricing comparison table to the Hero face or Welcome face. | :icon-bar-chart: |
| Bundle pricing converts 30–50% higher than individual course sales (industry standard for e-learning). | Create a Family Bundle: Kids L1 + Smartphone + Level 2 for $99 (saves $48). Mention in Shop. | :icon-package: |
| Scarcity and urgency. The countdown to May 21 is already working. Use session-limited enrollment messaging. | Add 'Only 12 spots left for Summer Session 1' to Hero. Update this manually each week. | :icon-clock: |
| The Adult Masterclass is underpriced at $199. Comparable courses on Udemy/Skillshare sell for $200-$400 with FAR less content. | Consider raising base Adult price to $299 and keeping $499 as the premium tier with 1:1 sessions. | :icon-trending-up: |
| Free value first builds massive trust. The free Internet Safety Bonus is a HUGE differentiator no competitor offers. | Promote the FREE Internet Safety Course in every ad, post, and email. Lead with it as the hook. | :icon-gift: |

| Personalized printable completion certificate — a tangible, shareable artifact families love. | Very few kids online courses include a real certificate. Parents screenshot and post these. | :icon-award: |
| Serves the full family in one place: kids L1, kids L2, smartphone for everyone, and an adult masterclass. A family can spend $49 and eventually $899 all with Miss Megan. | No single local instructor serves ages 5 through 65+ with structured, tiered curricula. | :icon-users: |

| Launch Announcement Email | Send to your Boudieful client list TODAY | Something exciting — summer photography for your kids! 📸 | Hi [First Name]! You might know me from Boudieful — I'm Megan, your portrait photographer. This summer I'm launching something I've been building for over a year: Little Lenses & Beyond, a photography course for kids ages 6 through 12. I taught photography at the Boys & Girls Club for years, and I've always believed every kid deserves to learn how to SEE the world through a lens — not just scroll through it. For $49, your child gets a complete interactive photography course — including a FREE Internet Safety module I'm giving away to every family because I think every kid needs it right now. Spots are limited. Here's the portal: [your URL]. Payment is simple: Cash.App $BOUDIEFUL. Reply to this email with any questions! — Megan | :icon-mail: |
| Inquiry Response (Within 1 Hour) | Whenever a parent asks about the course | Re: Little Lenses Photography Class — Here's Everything! | Hi [Name]! Thank you so much for reaching out — I'm so excited you're considering Little Lenses for [child's name]! Here's everything you need to know: WHAT: A complete kids photography course — 14 modules, interactive simulators, games, and a printable certificate. Plus a FREE Internet Safety bonus course. WHO: Ages 6–12. No experience needed whatsoever — we start from zero. WHERE: In-person here in Farmington, NM (serving Aztec and Kirtland too), AND available fully online. WHEN: Summer sessions start when school lets out May 21! HOW MUCH: Just $49 for the complete course. TO ENROLL: Simply send $49 to Cash.App/$BOUDIEFUL and I'll send you the direct portal link immediately. I keep classes small — only 12 spots per session — so [child's name] gets real individual attention from me, not a crowd. Would love to have you! Any other questions? — Megan | :icon-message-circle: |
| Price Objection Response | When someone says 'that's a bit expensive' or asks for a discount | RE: Cost question | Hi [Name]! I totally understand — making sure it's worth every dollar is so important. Here's some perspective: most local summer enrichment programs run $150–$300 per child for ONE week. Little Lenses is $49 for a full multi-module course your child can revisit forever — plus a free Internet Safety course most parents are spending hundreds searching for separately. It also includes 12 interactive simulators, a card game, a scavenger hunt, printable worksheets, and a personalized certificate. If cost is a concern, I also offer our HONOR20 code (20% off) for military and first responder families, and WISDOM20 for senior grandparents enrolling grandchildren. And honestly — if [child's name] completes session one and doesn't love it, I'll refund you completely. Zero risk. I believe in this course that much. — Megan | :icon-dollar-sign: |
| School / Co-op Pitch Email | Emailing Boys & Girls Club, co-op coordinators, or school principals | Photography curriculum for kids — live, interactive, safety-focused | Dear [Director's Name], My name is Megan — I'm a professional photographer and educator based here in Farmington. I've developed a fully interactive photography curriculum for children ages 6–16 that I believe would be an exceptional fit for your program. What makes this different: 12 live interactive simulators (not videos — kids actually DO photography in real time), a built-in Internet & Online Safety module included at no extra cost, gamification including a Trophy Room, Adventure Map, and card games, and a personalized completion certificate for every student. I'd love to schedule a 20-minute demo where I can show you the platform live — I think you'll be surprised at what it looks like. School licensing starts at $899 for full classroom access. Would [date] or [date] work for a quick call or meeting? Thank you for everything you do for our kids. — Megan \| Little Lenses & Beyond \| [your phone] | :icon-school: |
| Post-Class Follow-Up + Upsell | Send 3 days after a student's last session | [Child's name] did AMAZING — here's what's next 🏆 | Hi [Parent Name]! I just wanted to reach out and say what an incredible student [child's name] was this session. They really impressed me with [specific thing they did well — e.g., 'their composition sense' or 'how quickly they mastered the exposure triangle']. I'm so proud of them! A couple of things: 1. Their certificate is ready — they can print it anytime at [portal URL]. 2. Level 2: Next Steps is now open for enrollment — it builds directly on everything [child's name] learned and teaches manual mode, light painting, and portrait directing. It's also $49. Several of your classmates are already signing up. 3. If you — as a parent — ever want to finally understand your own camera, I have an Adult Masterclass too. Might be a fun thing to do together! Thank you again. Watching kids find their creative voice is why I do this. — Megan | :icon-award: |
| Testimonial Request Text | Text to send parents after the final session | Text message — no subject line needed | Hey [Name]! It was such a joy having [child's name] in class this session. They were fantastic! Could I ask a small favor? If you have 2 minutes, would you mind sharing one thing they loved or learned? Even just a sentence or two. I'd love to add real family experiences to the course for other parents considering it. You can just reply here or email me at [your email]. Thank you so much — this means the world to me. — Megan 📸 | :icon-star: |

| --- | --- | --- |
| 'My kid isn't interested in photography.' | That's okay — most kids aren't until they try it! The course is designed around games, simulators, and creative challenges — not lectures about cameras. 9 out of 10 kids who 'aren't interested' at the start can't put the camera down by session 2. The Internet Safety bonus alone is worth the enrollment for any parent. | :icon-help-circle: |
| 'We don't have a camera.' | That's completely fine! The first 4 modules work entirely with a smartphone or tablet — which every family has. We also lend devices in-person if needed. Your child can complete the full course on any device you already own. | :icon-smartphone: |
| 'Is this just videos they watch?' | Not at all — that's actually what makes Little Lenses different from EVERYTHING else out there. It's 12 live interactive simulators where kids control real camera settings, card games, drag-and-drop workshops, a spinning challenge wheel, a scavenger hunt, and a trophy room. Kids DO photography — they don't watch it. | :icon-gamepad-2: |
| 'Can't they just watch YouTube for free?' | They absolutely can — and so could I. But this course gives them a structured, safe, gamified, age-appropriate experience with a real credentialed instructor. YouTube has no structure, no safety, no assessment, no certificate, and no Internet Safety training. This is a complete learning experience — not a playlist. | :icon-play-circle: |
| 'My teenager thinks they know everything already.' | Perfect — the Adult Masterclass and the Smartphone & Tablet course are designed exactly for that confident beginner. We challenge them fast and show them what they DON'T know yet, and they usually love that. The teen modules go all the way through portfolio building and landing their first 'client'. | :icon-award: |
| 'I'm worried about safety — is the portal child-safe?' | Yes, 100%. The portal has no social features, no chat, no public-facing elements whatsoever. Students access their content privately through their unique URL. And the Internet Safety bonus module teaches children exactly how to stay safe online — it's part of the course mission. | :icon-shield-check: |

📈 2026 Trend Insights — What They Mean for You
| Industry Trend | What It Means | Your Play | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Mobile learning growing at 15.89% CAGR through 2031 | Parents and students are increasingly comfortable buying and consuming educational content entirely on their phones. The purchase friction is lower than ever. | Your Smartphone Course IS the trend. Lead every ad with mobile-first messaging. Screenshot the simulators on a phone in every post. | :icon-smartphone: |
| Gamification dramatically increases retention and completion rates | Research.com 2026 confirms gamified learning drives dramatically higher completion than video-only courses. Completion = testimonials = referrals. | In every marketing message, lead with 'This isn't a boring video course — it's games, simulators, and challenges.' That one sentence wins parents instantly. | :icon-gamepad-2: |
| 86% of US parents cite online safety as a top concern (Pew Research, 2024) | The free Internet Safety bonus is not just a nice-to-have — it is the most powerful marketing hook you have. Parents are actively searching for this. | Lead with the FREE Internet Safety course in every single ad, post, and pitch. Put it before the photography pitch, not after. | :icon-shield-check: |
| Micro-credentials and certificates growing in perceived value (Coursera, 2025 — 51% of global leaders incorporate micro-credentials) | Your personalized completion certificate is more valuable than you realize. Certificate holders share photos. Shared photos = organic marketing. | Do a physical certificate printing ceremony at end of every session. Parents PHOTOGRAPH it. That photo goes on Facebook. That is your ad — free. | :icon-award: |
| After-school enrichment spending: $13.5 billion/year in the US; average $735/child/summer | Your $49 course is DEEPLY underpriced compared to what families are already spending on summer enrichment. You have massive pricing headroom. | When parents hesitate on price, remind them: 'The average family spends $735 on summer enrichment. This is $49 for the entire summer — and they keep it forever.' | :icon-dollar-sign: |
| LXP (Learning Experience Platform) market growing from $10.5B to $30.7B by 2031 | Interactive, personalized, gamified learning platforms are being proven at massive scale. You built one. Institutions are now actively looking to buy or license these. | Position your portal as a licensed curriculum product for schools. The $899 school bundle is not a discount — it is actually underpriced for what you have. | :icon-layers: |
| Photography hobbyist market: 18.4 million active participants in the US (Statista, 2025) | Your adult audience is enormous. These are people who own cameras and are frustrated they don't know how to use them properly. | Run targeted Facebook/Instagram ads to 'Photography' interest audiences aged 25–55. They are already motivated buyers — they just need to find you. | :icon-camera: |
| AI in education growing rapidly — 70% of students have anxiety about AI's impact on jobs (FAS, 2025) | Creative skills like photography are increasingly seen as AI-proof and human-centric. Parents recognize this and it drives enrollment in creative courses. | Add messaging like 'In an AI world, creativity is the skill that matters most. Photography is how we develop it.' This resonates powerfully with parents in 2026. | :icon-cpu: |

💜 Mindset & Motivation — For the Hard Days
Building a business is hard. There will be slow weeks, unanswered emails, and moments of doubt. This section is for those moments — a private reminder of who you are, what you've built, and why it matters.
🌟 Power Affirmations for Miss Megan
| Affirmation | Why It's True | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- |
| I have built something no one else in San Juan County has built. | There is not a single other educator in Farmington offering a 54-face interactive photography portal with gamification, simulators, and a safety module. You created this from scratch. That is extraordinary. | :icon-star: |
| My experience is my credential. I don't need permission to be the expert. | Years teaching at Boys & Girls Club. A professional portrait studio. Real students who flourished under your instruction. Your credentials aren't on a wall — they're in the hearts of every child you've taught. | :icon-award: |
| Every 'no' brings me closer to the 'yes' that changes everything. | Sales is a numbers game. Statistically, for every 10 people who hear your pitch, 2–3 will enroll. Every rejection is data, not a verdict. The next conversation could be the one that fills your summer session. | :icon-heart: |
| I am worth every dollar I charge. | The average summer enrichment program costs $735/child. You charge $49 for a full interactive course they keep forever. You are not overcharging — you are one of the best deals in education in 2026. | :icon-dollar-sign: |
| Slow days do not mean failure. They mean I have room to grow. | Every successful business has slow periods. What separates those who succeed is continuing to show up, post, reach out, and believe during the quiet weeks. Your consistency is your competitive advantage. | :icon-sun: |
| I am changing how children see the world — literally. | When a child looks through a viewfinder for the first time and sees something beautiful they created — that moment is irreplaceable. You provide that. That is your mission. Revenue follows mission. | :icon-camera: |
🧠 Fear vs. Truth — Talking Back to Self-Doubt
| The Fear / The Doubt | The Truth That Overrides It | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 'What if nobody signs up?' | This fear lives in every entrepreneur before launch. The data says: you haven't posted consistently enough yet. The families are there — 12,000 K-12 students in Farmington alone. They just haven't seen your offer yet. Post today. Text someone today. One action cures this fear. | :icon-help-circle: |
| 'What if I'm not tech-savvy enough to run this?' | You built this. You navigated every face, every control, every tool. If you could build it, you can use it. Every edit you make is through a simple content editor — no code, ever. You are more capable than you believe. | :icon-cpu: |
| 'What if parents don't think $49 is worth it?' | Parents spend $735 on average per summer per child on enrichment. Your $49 is a fraction of that. The ones who say 'that's too expensive' are not your audience — and that's okay. Your audience is the parent who values quality creative education. They exist in abundance in San Juan County. | :icon-dollar-sign: |
| 'What if I can't keep up with creating content?' | You don't need to create new content from scratch. Screen-record a student using the portal (30 seconds). Screenshot the certificate. Post a photo from your studio. The content is already happening in your daily life — you just need to point a camera at it. | :icon-video: |
| 'What if a school says no to the licensing deal?' | They will. Probably more than once. The average B2B sale requires 5–7 touchpoints before a yes. The first school 'no' is not rejection — it's the beginning of a relationship. Follow up in 30 days. Show up to the PTA meeting. Stay visible. The yes comes. | :icon-school: |
| 'I'm doing this alone — what if it's too much?' | You've already done the hardest part alone: you built the entire platform. Operations — taking payments, sending links, showing up to class — are significantly simpler than the build. As revenue grows, hire a part-time assistant. You don't have to stay solo forever. | :icon-users: |
🏆 Celebration Milestones — Every Win Counts
| Milestone | How to Celebrate It | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- |
| First enrollment ever | Screenshot the Cash.App payment notification. Save it forever. This is Day 1 of your business. | :icon-star: |
| First 5 students enrolled | Treat yourself to something you love. Post a celebration on your personal social media. Tell someone who matters to you. | :icon-users: |
| First in-person session complete | Take a photo of the classroom setup. Journal how it felt. This is the moment the platform became real. | :icon-camera: |
| First $1,000 month | You are officially a profitable education business. Go to dinner. Tell your family. This is not small — most businesses never make it here. | :icon-dollar-sign: |
| First school / co-op deal | This is the moment Little Lenses became institutional. Frame the first contract. You are now a licensed curriculum provider. | :icon-school: |
| First student testimonial received | Read it slowly. This person trusted you with their child's education and found it valuable. That is your mission working in real life. | :icon-heart: |
| First $5,000 month | You have a real, full business. Plan what you'll do with the financial breathing room — savings, investment, or hire help. | :icon-trending-up: |
| First student asks to enroll their sibling | This is the highest compliment in education — an unsolicited referral from inside the family. You earned this through excellence. | :icon-award: |
