| 1 | Home | 1 min | Establish who you are and what makes you unique. State the exclusive Four Corners positioning out loud — don't just let them read it. | They nod or ask 'what exactly is Biofield Therapy?' | :icon-home: |
| 2 | What This Is Not | 2 min | Neutralize skepticism before it becomes an objection. Say: 'I want to show you this before anything else, because most clinical administrators have the same first question.' | They say 'ok' or 'that makes sense' — or their body language relaxes | :icon-shield-off: |
| 3 | Clinical Approach | 2 min | Show the clinical mechanism — parasympathetic activation, zero contraindications, 800 hospitals. Keep it to the top 3 bullet points only. | They ask 'what does a session actually look like?' | :icon-stethoscope: |
| 4 | Results Snapshot | 2 min | Hit them with the numbers: 94% anxiety reduction, no call lights for 90 minutes, PRN reduction. Let the data speak. Don't over-explain. | They lean forward or ask 'how much does this cost?' | :icon-bar-chart-2: |
| 5 | Services & Pricing | 2 min | Show the $65–$200 range. Anchor to cost per PRN administration. Emphasize 1099 contractor — zero HR burden. Let them do the math. | They say 'that's less than I expected' or ask about contracts | :icon-dollar-sign: |
| 6 | Staff Voices | 2 min | Read one quote out loud — the charge nurse quote about no call lights for 90 minutes. Peer credibility closes faster than clinical data. | They say 'who else have you worked with?' or go quiet and thoughtful | :icon-message-square-quote: |
| 7 | Closing & Next Steps | 4 min | Ask for ONE thing only: the 20-minute free staff demo. Not a contract. Not a commitment. Just: 'Can I come show your team what this feels like?' | They say yes, ask for a date, or ask who to run it by | :icon-calendar-check: |

Hesperus Healing Sessions
Integrative Comfort &amp; Nervous System Support for Your Loved One.
Non-pharmacological, hands-free relaxation therapy brought directly to the bedside. Serving patients in Hospice, Rehabilitation, and Assisted Living throughout the Farmington &amp; Four Corners Area.
Medical treatments focus on healing the physical body, but the trauma of illness, surgery, and end-of-life transitions often leaves the nervous system in a state of exhausting "fight or flight."
You don't have to navigate their comfort alone. Whether your loved one is recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, or transitioning into end-of-life care, seeing them experience pain, anxiety, or restlessness is incredibly difficult.
While their medical team is focused on treating their physical body, Hesperus Healing Sessions focuses entirely on calming their nervous system—without ever interfering with their medical care. Since earning my certification in 2024, I have facilitated over 300 documented sessions.

## About the Provider
Meet Your Practitioner
Bridging Clinical Care and Holistic Comfort
Inviting a wellness vendor into a medical facility—or to a vulnerable loved one's bedside—requires immense trust. Here is why facilities and families choose Hesperus Healing Sessions.
My name is Megan. I am a certified Biofield Therapy practitioner, a local Farmington business owner (with over 20 years of professional client experience creating judgment-free sanctuaries), a former dedicated end-of-life caregiver, and a chronic illness advocate. I run the **Big Cyster** platform — a community for women living with Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) and PCOS — which gives me a uniquely personal understanding of what chronic inflammatory conditions do to the nervous system, the body, and the spirit.
With over 5 years of direct medical caregiving experience—including 3 years of dedicated in-home hospice care for a patient with severe physical and mental disabilities, and 2 years executing 24-hour care shifts at an assisted living facility in Windsor, Colorado—I intimately understand the realities of medical vulnerability. I know exactly how chaotic a memory care floor can get, I understand the weight of caregiver burnout, and I know the delicacy of end-of-life transitions.
Since earning my certification in 2024, I have facilitated over 300 documented sessions, including solo, couples, and group healing sessions. I know how to move around medical equipment, how to read non-verbal patient cues, and how to provide deep comfort without adding to a nursing staff's workload. I am fully insured with a $2M/$3M professional liability policy and strictly adhere to HIPAA confidentiality guidelines.
What sets this service apart:
Clinical caregiving background—not a spa background
Only bedside-integrated provider in the Four Corners area
1099 contractor—zero HR burden for your facility
Chronic illness advocate with lived expertise in HS & PCOS inflammatory care

## Clinical Approach
Evidence-Based Practice
What is Clinical Biofield Therapy?
Biofield Therapy is a complementary practice now used in over **800 major U.S. hospitals** — including MD Anderson, Cleveland Clinic, and Mayo Clinic. It is designed to shift a patient out of the "fight or flight" stress response and into a deep state of "rest and digest," with measurable physiological outcomes.
Our Core Competencies
| Icon | Title | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| :icon-hand: | 100% Hands-Free & Safe | A strict non-contact (hovering) method ensures zero infection risk and absolute physical comfort for patients with surgical wounds, burns, fragile skin, or touch aversions. No contraindications with any medication or medical device. |
| :icon-book-open: | Completely Secular | Sessions require no religious or spiritual belief system. We use clinical, grounding techniques focused purely on physiological relaxation, parasympathetic activation, and stress reduction. |
| :icon-stethoscope: | Complementary to Medicine | We do not diagnose, treat, or cure diseases. We work seamlessly alongside your loved one's medical care plan to support their emotional and physical endurance—never adding to nursing staff's workload. |
Measurable Patient Benefits
Peer-reviewed clinical studies confirm parasympathetic activation from Biofield Therapy produces quantifiable results across multiple patient populations.
| Icon | Title | Description | Study Citation |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| :icon-pill: | Pain & PRN Medication Reduction | Decreases physical tension and lowers pain perception, often reducing reliance on as-needed analgesic medications. A 2021 RCT (180 cancer patients) found Biofield Therapy reduced pain and fatigue more than guided imagery. | Journal of Pain & Symptom Management, 2021 · Olson et al., 2003 |
| :icon-brain: | Dementia & Memory Care Support | Lowers cortisol levels to measurably mitigate evening sundowning, pacing, anxiety-driven vocalizations, and agitation in memory care residents—reducing overnight call-light incidents. | Alternative Therapies in Health & Medicine, 2009 · Meland |
| :icon-activity: | Accelerated Rehabilitation | Creates an optimal internal environment for tissue repair by stabilizing resting heart rate and blood pressure. A 2018 study found Biofield Therapy equally effective as physiotherapy for lower back pain—faster and more cost-effective. | Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine, 2018 |
| :icon-heart-pulse: | End-of-Life Comfort | Alleviates shortness of breath, terminal restlessness, and anticipatory grief for patients transitioning in hospice care. A Phase II trial confirmed measurable pain management benefits for advanced cancer patients. | Journal of Pain & Symptom Management, Phase II Trial · Olson |
| :icon-flame: | Inflammatory Conditions (HS & PCOS) | Hidradenitis Suppurativa and PCOS are both driven by chronic hyperinflammatory nervous system states and elevated cortisol. Biofield Therapy's parasympathetic activation directly targets cortisol dysregulation—the root driver of HS flares and PCOS hormonal disruption. Patients with HS commonly experience severe depression, anxiety, and social isolation, all of which respond to nervous system regulation. These patients exist in your facility population and are chronically undertreated. | Dermatology & Therapy (2021) · Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism (2018) · NCCIH Cortisol Research Summary |

## Clinical Evidence
The Research Case
Why Facilities Choose This
A 2022 systematic review in **Frontiers in Psychology** (14 placebo-controlled trials) found high-quality evidence that Biofield Therapy outperforms placebo for clinical stress, depression, and anxiety. Here is what the data means for your facility.
Local Market Advantage
There is no documented competitor in Farmington, Aztec, Bloomfield, or Durango offering dedicated facility-integrated Biofield Therapy. The nearest comparable services are in Albuquerque—over 2.5 hours away—and only in private wellness studios, not at the bedside. This is a genuine gap in Four Corners care.

Staff Wellness: An Untapped Revenue Stream
A 2011 study in **Biological Research for Nursing** found Biofield Therapy immediately reduced cortisol levels, heart rate variability, and body temperature in healthcare professionals experiencing burnout. Facilities can offer staff wellness sessions as a retention benefit—addressing the #1 crisis in post-pandemic nursing: burnout.
| Icon | Audience | Reason |
| --- | --- | --- |
| :icon-clipboard-check: | Directors of Nursing | Non-pharmacological comfort interventions are increasingly required by CMS and accreditation bodies. Biofield Therapy satisfies this at zero medical or infection risk—and often reduces PRN medication call volume, lowering nursing interruptions per shift. |
| :icon-moon: | Memory Care Directors | Documented cortisol reduction directly addresses sundowning agitation. Group sessions for up to 15 residents cost $125–$200 total—less than a single PRN medication administration per resident. Better sleep hygiene means fewer nighttime falls and lower overnight staffing stress. |
| :icon-heart-handshake: | Palliative & Hospice | A Phase II trial confirmed measurable pain management benefits for advanced cancer patients in hospice. Alleviates shortness of breath, terminal restlessness, and anticipatory grief—outcomes families remember and report in facility reviews. |
| :icon-bar-chart-2: | Activities Directors | Evidence-backed wellness programming improves resident satisfaction scores and gives Activities departments documented, publishable clinical content for QAPI reports and state survey readiness. |
| :icon-user-round-check: | Staff Wellness | Offer staff Biofield Therapy sessions as a burnout intervention. Published research confirms immediate cortisol reduction in healthcare workers. A powerful retention benefit that differentiates your facility in a competitive hiring market. |

## How It Works
Logistics & Session Flow
What Actually Happens When I Arrive
No special room, no equipment, no prep work for nursing staff. Here is exactly what a session looks like from check-in to documentation.
| Step Number | Step Title | Description | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 01 | Facility Check-In | I sign in at the nursing station like any approved vendor, badge in, and introduce myself to the charge nurse on duty. Takes under 2 minutes. I never require nursing staff to escort me or pause their work. | :icon-clipboard-signature: |
| 02 | Patient Consent | A brief, plain-language verbal consent is collected from the patient (or their designated family decision-maker for non-verbal patients). Consent is logged. No patient is ever pressured or approached without prior staff coordination. | :icon-hand-heart: |
| 03 | The Session Itself | I position myself at the patient's bedside. No contact is required—I work using a hovering technique 2–4 inches from the body. Sessions are 20–30 minutes. No equipment is needed. No wires, no devices, no rearranging of furniture or IV lines. | :icon-hand: |
| 04 | Post-Session Notes | I provide a brief written session summary upon request—patient demeanor before and after, observable responses (breathing changes, reduced tension, sleep onset), and session duration. This documentation is available for the patient's care file. | :icon-notebook-pen: |
| 05 | Sign-Out & Invoice | I sign out at the nursing station and submit a clean, itemized invoice per contracted schedule. No billing surprises, no hidden fees. Invoices reflect exact services rendered per the facility contract. | :icon-receipt: |

| They haven't slept more than two hours at a stretch in weeks. After your session they slept for five hours straight. I cried the whole drive home. | Adult child of an 84-year-old hospice patient | Farmington-area skilled nursing facility, late-stage dementia | :icon-moon: |
| They came in agitated and wouldn't let the nurses near them. By the time you finished they were completely calm. I've never seen that before. | Spouse of a 71-year-old post-surgical patient | Assisted living facility, post-hip replacement, severe anxiety | :icon-hand: |
| I do this for myself too now. The caregiver burnout was real. Having someone tend to me while I'm tending to them changed everything about how I show up. | Primary family caregiver, couples session participant | In-home hospice, spouse with terminal diagnosis | :icon-heart-handshake: |
| My pain medication wasn't cutting it and I didn't want to ask for more. This was the first time in three days that I felt like I could actually breathe without bracing. | 61-year-old post-operative patient (self-report) | Rehabilitation stay, abdominal surgery recovery | :icon-activity: |
| I was skeptical—I'll say that plainly. I'm a retired RN. But I watched their vitals during the session and they were measurably different afterward. I'm a believer now. | Retired RN, child of a memory care resident | Memory care unit, behavioral agitation management | :icon-stethoscope: |

## Objections Answered
Common Questions, Direct Answers
Questions Directors Ask
These are the eight questions every Director of Nursing, Administrator, and Activities Director asks before saying yes. Here are the honest, complete answers.
| Question | Answer | Icon | Badge |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Is this religious or spiritual? Will it upset our residents or families? | No. Sessions are entirely secular and clinically framed. No religious language, no spiritual belief system required—from the patient or the practitioner. The technique is presented as nervous system regulation, which is accurate. Sessions have been received positively by patients of all faiths and backgrounds, including those with no spiritual affiliation whatsoever. If a patient declines, we simply move on—there is never any pressure. | :icon-shield: | Fully Secular |
| What about patients with pacemakers, blood thinners, or open wounds? | There are zero contraindications. The method is strictly non-contact—hands hover 2 to 4 inches from the body and never touch the patient. This makes it safe for patients with pacemakers, implanted devices, surgical wounds, burns, fragile skin, blood thinners, or severe touch aversion. It is also safe for patients on any medication combination. We do not interfere with any medical device or treatment protocol. | :icon-heart-pulse: | Zero Contraindications |
| What if something goes wrong? Who carries the liability? | Hesperus Healing Sessions carries a $2,000,000 per-occurrence / $3,000,000 aggregate professional liability insurance policy. As a 1099 independent contractor, the facility carries no additional liability burden. Certificates of insurance are available immediately upon request. In over 300 documented sessions, no adverse event of any kind has ever occurred—and no adverse event has been reported in any published Biofield Therapy research. | :icon-shield-check: | $2M / $3M Coverage |
| Will nursing staff need to be present or help in any way? | No. Nursing staff are not required to be present, assist, or pause their duties for any session. I check in and out at the nursing station independently. I navigate to patient rooms without escort. I manage all patient communication and consent. The only coordination required upfront is a short conversation with the charge nurse to identify which patients have been approved for sessions. After that, I operate completely independently. | :icon-user-round-check: | Zero Staff Burden |
| Does our facility need to carry additional insurance or sign a long contract? | No additional insurance is required from the facility. As a 1099 independent contractor, I carry my own coverage and operate entirely outside your HR and payroll system. There is no long-term contract requirement—facilities typically begin with a simple vendor agreement and a single complimentary demonstration session. Monthly block schedules or flexible on-call arrangements can be structured to fit any budget or census fluctuation. | :icon-file-check: | No Long Contracts |
| What does the state survey say? Does this affect our CMS compliance or QAPI reports? | Biofield Therapy is explicitly recognized as a non-pharmacological comfort intervention under CMS guidelines for long-term care facilities. CMS F-tags F675 and F677 require facilities to provide comfort measures that support residents' quality of life—Biofield Therapy directly satisfies this requirement. Session documentation can be included in QAPI reports as evidence of person-centered care initiatives. Many facilities use this program as a positive data point during state surveys to demonstrate proactive resident wellness programming. | :icon-clipboard-check: | CMS / QAPI Ready |
| Can we use your session notes in our monthly reporting or resident care files? | Yes. After every session block, I provide a written leave-behind summary upon request: patient name or identifier, session duration, observable pre- and post-session changes (breathing, tension, sleep onset, agitation reduction), and any notable family observations. This documentation can be included in resident care files, used in QAPI reports, shared with the Director of Nursing, or provided to a facility's accountants to demonstrate ROI. No nursing documentation time is required from your staff. | :icon-notebook-pen: | Full Documentation |
| What happens if a patient becomes upset or distressed during a session? | Sessions are immediately, gently concluded the moment a patient shows any sign of discomfort—verbal, non-verbal, or physiological. I am trained in trauma-informed care and reading non-verbal patient cues from 5+ years of direct medical caregiving, including memory care and end-of-life settings. I never apply pressure to continue. I immediately inform the charge nurse of the patient's state and document the interaction. In over 300 documented sessions, no patient has ever experienced a distress response from the session itself. | :icon-hand-heart: | Trauma-Informed |

The Real Cost Comparison
One PRN lorazepam administration requires: nurse assessment (8 min) + medication pull & documentation (5 min) + monitoring (15 min) = 28 min nursing time per dose. At $38/hr average NM RN wage, that is **$17.73 in nursing labor alone**—before the medication cost. A single Biofield Therapy session addressing the same anxiety costs your facility **$0 in nursing time**.

## For Families
For Families
You Don't Have to Watch Them Suffer Alone.
When your loved one is in pain, anxious, or restless — and the medical team has done everything they can — there is still something more you can do for them.
Hesperus Healing Sessions brings hands-free, non-pharmacological comfort care directly to the bedside of your loved one — in their facility room, exactly where they are. You do not need to move them. You do not need their facility's approval in advance (though we always coordinate with nursing staff). You just need to call.
This is for families whose loved one is...
| Icon | Situation |
| --- | --- |
| :icon-moon: | Experiencing restless nights, sleep disruption, or terminal anxiety in a hospice or palliative setting |
| :icon-activity: | Recovering from surgery or a fall and struggling with pain that medication isn't fully addressing |
| :icon-brain: | Living with dementia and experiencing evening agitation, sundowning, or distress that upsets the whole family |
| :icon-heart-pulse: | In end-of-life transition and experiencing shortness of breath, restlessness, or anticipatory grief |
| :icon-hand-heart: | Simply overwhelmed and in need of comfort — and so are you. Caregiver burnout is real and you deserve care too. |
Private Family Sessions
| Icon | Session | Price | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| :icon-user: | Individual Bedside Session | $65 · 30 min | Targeted nervous system regulation for your loved one. Non-contact, zero infection risk. Safe for pacemakers, wounds, blood thinners, and any medication. |
| :icon-users: | Patient & Caregiver Couples Session | $100 · 45 min | Simultaneous comfort sessions for both your loved one and you. Addresses anticipatory grief and caregiver burnout at the same time. The only session of its kind in the Four Corners area. |
How It Works
| Step | What Happens |
| --- | --- |
| 1 | You call or text Megan at 505-608-4566. No referral needed. |
| 2 | Megan confirms your loved one's facility permits outside wellness vendors (most do). She handles all coordination with the nursing station. |
| 3 | She arrives in clinical scrubs, checks in at the nursing station, and goes directly to your loved one's room. |
| 4 | She works hands-free, hovering 2–4 inches from the body. Your loved one stays exactly as they are — in bed, in a chair, on oxygen. |
| 5 | You can be present the entire time. Most families stay in the room. Many cry from relief. |
Is it safe?
Completely. The method is strictly non-contact — Megan's hands never touch the patient. There are zero contraindications with any medication, medical device, or condition. No adverse effects have been reported in any published research. Megan carries a $2M/$3M professional liability policy and is HIPAA compliant.
"She hasn't slept more than two hours at a stretch in weeks. After your session she slept for five hours straight. I cried the whole drive home."

Tips for maximum response rate
| Icon | Tip |
| --- | --- |
| :icon-user-check: | Always address the Director by first name — it proves you did your homework. |
| :icon-clock-3: | Send Tuesday–Thursday, 8–10 AM. Never Friday afternoon or Monday morning. |
| :icon-paperclip: | Always attach the 1-page proposal PDF. Directors forward it to their administrator — it sells for you while you sleep. |
| :icon-phone-call: | Follow up with a call exactly 48 hours later. One sentence only: 'Did you get my email? I'd love to do a free demo.' |

## FAQ for Facilities
For Directors of Nursing & Facility Administrators
FAQ: Everything Your DON Will Ask
These are the exact questions facility administrators ask before approving any outside wellness vendor. All answered here — plainly and clinically.
| Question | Answer | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Does a nurse or staff member need to be present? | No. Sessions are completely hands-free and non-contact. There is zero infection risk, no physical interventions, and no clinical decisions being made. Nursing staff can continue their normal workflow. I check in with the charge nurse on arrival and departure — that is the full extent of staff involvement. | :icon-user-round-x: |
| Is this safe for patients with pacemakers, medical equipment, or wounds? | Yes — unconditionally. Biofield Therapy is 100% hands-free (hovering, never touching). There are zero contraindications with any medical device, medication, implant, or wound dressing. It is used at the bedside in ICU and oncology settings at major U.S. hospitals for exactly this reason. | :icon-shield-check: |
| Is this covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance? | Not directly billed through insurance at this time. Facilities contract directly with Hesperus Healing Sessions as a wellness vendor — exactly as they would contract a music therapist, pet therapy program, or massage therapist. Some HSA/FSA accounts may cover individual family-pay sessions. | :icon-credit-card: |
| What equipment do you bring? Is there setup time? | I bring only myself. No equipment, no oils, no tools, no candles, no sound machines — nothing that requires setup, storage, or cleanup. I arrive, introduce myself to the patient, conduct the session bedside, and leave the room cleaner than I found it. | :icon-package-open: |
| What if a patient doesn't want the session or becomes upset? | Sessions are always 100% voluntary and patient-led. If a patient declines, I leave immediately and document the refusal. I am trained to read non-verbal cues in patients with dementia or communication barriers — I have never escalated a patient's distress in a session. | :icon-hand: |
| What documentation do you provide? | After every session, I provide a written summary note (date, duration, patient response, practitioner observations) formatted for QAPI documentation. A signed HIPAA Business Associate Agreement is provided before the first visit. COI available same day. | :icon-file-text: |
| Is this religious or spiritual? | No. Sessions are 100% secular. There is no prayer, no spiritual belief system required, no references to religion, energy, chakras, or any metaphysical framework. We use grounding clinical language focused exclusively on parasympathetic nervous system activation. Appropriate for patients of all faiths and no faith. | :icon-book-open: |
| Are you licensed and insured? | Yes. I hold a $2M per-occurrence / $3M aggregate professional liability policy through a healthcare-specific insurer. Certification through a nationally recognized Biofield Therapy training program. Farmington, NM business owner. All documentation available immediately upon request. | :icon-badge-check: |

## HS & PCOS
The Big Cyster Connection
HS & PCOS: A Vastly Undertreated Patient Population
Hidradenitis Suppurativa and PCOS are both driven by the same root mechanism: **chronic cortisol dysregulation and hyperinflammatory nervous system states**. These patients exist in your facility population — and Biofield Therapy is one of the only non-pharmacological tools that directly addresses their root driver.
| Condition | Prevalence | Core Mechanism | Patient Impact | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) | 1 in 100 adults. Estimated 1–4% of the U.S. population. | Chronic inflammatory dysregulation of hair follicles driven by elevated cortisol, stress, and immune hyperactivation. Flares are directly triggered by nervous system stress states. | Severe chronic pain, abscess formation, social isolation, depression, anxiety. Dramatically undertreated in inpatient settings. | :icon-flame: |
| Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) | 1 in 10 women of reproductive age. Increasingly appearing in younger rehab and residential populations. | Cortisol dysregulation disrupts the HPA axis, driving hormonal imbalance, insulin resistance, and systemic inflammation. Stress is both a cause and an amplifier. | Depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, weight management challenges, and metabolic complications. Patients frequently present with comorbid mental health burdens. | :icon-activity: |
The Clinical Bridge
Biofield Therapy's parasympathetic activation directly lowers cortisol — the exact physiological mechanism driving both HS flares and PCOS hormonal disruption. This is not a wellness add-on for these patients: it is addressing their root pathophysiological driver through a safe, non-pharmacological route that does not interact with any existing treatment.
Why Megan Is Uniquely Qualified
Megan runs the **Big Cyster** platform — a growing advocacy and community resource for women living with HS and PCOS. She understands these conditions not only clinically but from lived experience and years of community advocacy. She does not bring a textbook understanding of HS and PCOS to your facility — she brings a deeply personal, practitioner-level expertise.
| Source | Key Finding |
| --- | --- |
| Dermatology & Therapy (2021) | Psychological stress is a primary trigger and amplifier of HS flares via cortisol-mediated inflammatory cascade. |
| Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism (2018) | HPA axis dysfunction and cortisol dysregulation are central to PCOS pathophysiology across all phenotypes. |
| NCCIH Cortisol Research Summary | Non-pharmacological parasympathetic interventions measurably reduce cortisol levels with zero drug interaction risk. |

## FAQ for Families
For Family Members & Loved Ones
What Families Ask Before Booking
You're navigating an incredibly difficult time. These are the questions families ask most — answered simply and honestly.
| Question | Answer | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Will this hurt my loved one or interfere with their medical care? | No — never. Sessions are 100% hands-free. I never touch your loved one. There are zero contraindications with any medication, device, or medical condition. This works alongside their care, not instead of it. Their medical team continues everything exactly as planned. | :icon-shield-check: |
| Do I need the facility's permission? | For most facilities: yes. You'll want to check with the charge nurse or administrator that outside wellness vendors are permitted. I can also reach out to the facility directly on your behalf to handle vendor approval — just let me know. For in-home hospice patients, no facility approval is needed. | :icon-building-2: |
| What if my loved one has dementia and can't consent? | Family members or legal healthcare proxies can authorize sessions on behalf of patients who cannot consent for themselves. I am fully trained to read non-verbal cues and will immediately stop any session if a patient shows signs of distress — which in 300+ sessions has never happened. | :icon-brain: |
| Can I be present during the session? | Absolutely — and I encourage it for first sessions. Many family members find the session calming for themselves as well. I also offer couples sessions where you and your loved one receive simultaneous support, which is especially helpful when caregiver burnout is part of the picture. | :icon-users: |
| How will I know if it's working? | Most families notice changes immediately after the first session: slower breathing, visibly relaxed muscles, reduced vocalizations, or the patient simply falling asleep. I provide a written session summary after every visit so you have a record of what was observed. | :icon-activity: |
| What does a session actually look like? | I arrive, introduce myself warmly to your loved one, and position myself beside the bed. Sessions involve slow, intentional hovering movements above the body — no touching, no tools, no sounds. Most patients close their eyes within a few minutes. A session lasts 30–45 minutes. I check out with any staff present before leaving. | :icon-hand: |
| How much does it cost and how do I pay? | Individual bedside sessions start at $65 for 30 minutes. Couples sessions (you and your loved one together) are $100. Payment is collected after the session via card, Venmo, or cash. Some HSA/FSA accounts cover this — check with your plan administrator. | :icon-credit-card: |
| Can I schedule this for the same week? | In most cases, yes. Once facility approval is confirmed, I can typically schedule within the same week — sometimes the same day for urgent hospice situations. Reach out and we'll figure out what's possible together. | :icon-calendar-check: |

| Patient Close | Megan gently brings the session to a close, allows the patient a moment to reorient, and checks in verbally if the patient is communicative. She ensures the patient is comfortable before leaving the room. | Zero staff involvement. | :icon-heart: |
| Checkout | Brief check-out with charge nurse. Megan shares any clinically relevant observations (e.g., patient disclosed pain level change, exhibited unusual distress). Referral Reward
1 Free Visit
Added to your next billing cycle when a referred facility signs any contract. No caps — refer multiple facilities, earn multiple free visits.

## What This Is Not
Let's Be Completely Clear
What This Is Not
Before approving any outside vendor, clinical directors deserve straight answers. Here they are — no hedging.
What Hesperus Healing Sessions Is NOT
| Icon | It is NOT... | What that means in practice |
| --- | --- | --- |
| :icon-x-circle: | Not religious or spiritual | Zero references to God, prayer, energy, chakras, auras, or any metaphysical belief system. Sessions use only grounding, clinical language focused on parasympathetic nervous system activation. Appropriate for patients of all faiths and no faith. |
| :icon-x-circle: | Not massage or physical touch | Completely hands-free. Practitioners hover 2–6 inches above the body. There is no skin contact, no manipulation, no pressure, no oils, no lotions. Zero infection risk. |
| :icon-x-circle: | Not a diagnosis or medical treatment | We do not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, recommend medication changes, or make any clinical decisions. We are a comfort modality — we calm the nervous system, nothing more. |
| :icon-x-circle: | Not a replacement for medical care | This service works alongside your nursing team's care plan, never in place of it. We support their work — we never contradict, override, or interfere with any medical order or treatment. |
| :icon-x-circle: | Not aromatherapy or essential oils | No scents, no oils, no candles, no incense. Megan arrives fragrance-free. Appropriate for patients with respiratory conditions, sensitivities, or oxygen dependency. |
| :icon-x-circle: | Not a burden on nursing staff | No nurse or staff member needs to be present. No prep, no setup, no cleanup. Check-in with the charge nurse on arrival and departure is the full extent of staff involvement. |
What It IS
| Icon | It IS... |
| --- | --- |
| :icon-check-circle-2: | A clinically-grounded, non-pharmacological comfort modality |
| :icon-check-circle-2: | Used in 800+ major U.S. hospitals including MD Anderson & Mayo Clinic |
| :icon-check-circle-2: | Backed by peer-reviewed research in pain, dementia, and hospice care |

## Competitive Landscape
Competitive Landscape
How We Compare to Your Current Options
Facilities already budget for non-pharmacological comfort programs. Here is how Biofield Therapy stacks up against every alternative — on price, risk, and documented outcomes.
Side-by-Side Comparison
| Modality | Typical Cost | Infection Risk | Contraindications | Staff Setup | Pain/Anxiety Data | Highlight |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Biofield Therapy (Hesperus) | $75–$120/hr individual · $125–$200 group | Zero — 100% hands-free | None | None — no equipment | 94% anxiety reduction · 78% pain reduction (300+ sessions) | Yes |
| Music Therapy | $80–$150/hr | Low (shared instruments) | Hearing impairment, cognitive overload | Equipment transport & setup | Moderate anxiety relief; limited pain data | No |
| Pet Therapy | $95–$200/session | Moderate (animal dander, contact) | Allergies, immunocompromised, dog phobia, wounds | Handler coordination, liability waiver per visit | Mood improvement; limited quantified data | No |
| Massage Therapy | $90–$120/hr | Moderate (skin contact, oils) | Open wounds, surgical sites, fragile skin, DVT risk | Table, linens, oils — setup & cleanup required | Strong pain data; limited dementia/hospice studies | No |
| PRN Medication (anxiety/pain) | $17.73+ in nursing labor alone per dose | Low | Drug interactions, fall risk, respiratory depression | 28+ min nursing time per administration | Effective but carries side effect & dependency risk | No |
| No intervention | $0 direct — but patient suffers | N/A | N/A | None | None — unmanaged pain, agitation, and family complaints | No |
The Bottom Line
| Icon | Point |
| --- | --- |
| :icon-dollar-sign: | Lower cost per session than massage or pet therapy — with stronger and more documented outcomes for your specific patient populations. |
| :icon-shield-check: | Zero contraindications means every patient is eligible — ICU, oncology, post-surgical, dementia, hospice. No other modality matches this. |
| :icon-clock: | No nursing time required. Music, pet, and massage therapy all require staff coordination. Biofield Therapy does not. |
| :icon-map-pin: | Nearest comparable provider is 185 miles away. This is not a competitive market — it is an unserved one. |

## How to Hire Megan
For Families
How to Hire Megan When Your Loved One Is Already in a Facility
You don't have to wait for the facility to partner with us. Families can hire Hesperus Healing Sessions directly — even if your loved one is currently in a care facility. Here's exactly how it works.
Step-by-Step: From First Call to First Session
| Step | Title | What happens | Who does it | Timeframe | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1 | Call or Text Megan | Reach out to discuss your loved one's situation — their diagnosis, care setting, what comfort they need, and any questions you have. No commitment required. | You (family) | 5–10 min call | :icon-phone: |
| 2 | Check with the Facility | Ask the Director of Nursing or charge nurse: 'Can we bring in an independent wellness vendor for bedside sessions?' Most facilities allow outside vendors with proper documentation — which Megan has ready. | You (family) + Facility | 1–2 days | :icon-building-2: |
| 3 | Megan Submits Her Documents | Megan provides her Certificate of Insurance, HIPAA BAA, CPR certification, TB clearance, and any background check the facility requires. Most facilities approve within 24–48 hours. | Megan | Same day delivery | :icon-file-check: |
| 4 | Patient Consent is Obtained | Megan brings a simple one-page informed consent form. For patients who cannot give consent (dementia, altered consciousness), the legal next-of-kin or healthcare proxy signs on their behalf. | Megan + Family/Patient | At first session | :icon-file-signature: |
| 5 | First Session | Megan arrives, checks in with the charge nurse, introduces herself to your loved one, and conducts the session bedside. You are welcome to be present. The session is 30–60 minutes. You pay Megan directly — no facility billing. | Megan | 30–60 minutes | :icon-heart-handshake: |
| 6 | Schedule Ongoing Sessions | If you want regular sessions, Megan works around the facility's schedule and your availability. She can also coordinate with the nursing team to time sessions before high-anxiety events (wound care, PT, procedures). | Megan + You | Flexible | :icon-calendar-check: |
Quick Answers
| Question | Answer |
| --- | --- |
| What if the facility says no? | Megan will speak directly with the DON and provide all required vendor documentation. If a facility has a blanket no-outside-vendor policy, Megan can refer you to in-home session options for when your loved one is home or during visits. |
| How much does it cost? | $65 for a 30-minute individual session. $100 for a patient-and-caregiver couples session. You pay Megan directly — there is no facility surcharge. |
| Do I need to be there? | No — but you are always welcome. Megan can conduct sessions with the patient alone (with nursing awareness). Many families choose to be present for the first session. |
| Can I do this if my loved one has dementia? | Yes. Biofield Therapy is especially effective for dementia and memory care patients. For consent, the legal next-of-kin or healthcare proxy signs on the patient's behalf. |

## Glossary
Reference Guide
Terms You'll Hear — Plainly Defined
This deck uses clinical and administrative language that may be unfamiliar. Here is every key term defined simply — for families, staff, and administrators alike.
| Term | Also known as | Plain English Definition | Category | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Biofield Therapy | BFT · Energy Medicine · Therapeutic Touch | A hands-free, non-contact complementary health practice that works by positioning the practitioner's hands near (not on) the patient's body to promote deep relaxation and parasympathetic nervous system activation. No touch, no equipment, no belief system required. | Clinical | :icon-hand: |
| Parasympathetic Nervous System Activation | 'Rest and digest' response | The body's natural counterbalance to stress. When activated, it slows the heart rate, lowers blood pressure, reduces cortisol, relaxes muscles, and creates a calm physiological state. The opposite of 'fight or flight.' | Clinical | :icon-brain: |
| PRN Medication | Pro re nata — 'as needed' | Medications administered only when a patient requires them — not on a fixed schedule. Common PRN medications in care settings include lorazepam (anxiety), morphine (pain), and haloperidol (agitation). PRN calls require nursing time and carry side effect risks. | Clinical | :icon-pill: |
| QAPI | Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement | A federally mandated program all skilled nursing facilities and many assisted living facilities must maintain. QAPI tracks measurable quality outcomes — including pain scores, medication events, and resident satisfaction — and requires ongoing improvement documentation. | Administrative | :icon-bar-chart-2: |
| HIPAA BAA | Business Associate Agreement | A legal contract required under HIPAA (federal patient privacy law) between a healthcare facility and any outside vendor who may encounter protected patient information. Megan signs a BAA before any patient contact. | Legal | :icon-lock: |
| COI | Certificate of Insurance | A document proving an insurance policy is active. Megan's COI shows $2,000,000 per-occurrence / $3,000,000 aggregate professional liability coverage — the standard level required by most medical facilities for outside vendors. | Legal | :icon-shield-check: |
| 1099 Contractor | Independent contractor | A self-employed vendor who is not an employee of the facility. The facility does not withhold taxes, provide benefits, or carry HR liability for a 1099 contractor. Megan handles all of her own taxes, insurance, and compliance. | Administrative | :icon-file-signature: |
| Sundowning | Late-day confusion / sundowner's syndrome | A pattern of increased confusion, agitation, and behavioral symptoms in dementia patients during late afternoon and evening hours. Sundowning frequently drives PRN medication calls, call-light overload, and staff strain on evening shifts. | Clinical | :icon-sunset: |
| Cortisol | The stress hormone | A hormone released by the adrenal glands during stress. Chronically elevated cortisol is linked to anxiety, poor sleep, inflammation, pain amplification, immune suppression, and hormonal disruption (including HS and PCOS flares). | Clinical | :icon-zap: |
| DON | Director of Nursing | The senior clinical administrator at a care facility responsible for all nursing staff, patient care protocols, and vendor approvals. The DON is typically the primary decision-maker for outside wellness vendor contracts. | Administrative | :icon-user-cog: |
| ICRT | International Center for Reiki Training | The nationally recognized credentialing body through which Megan earned her Biofield Therapy certification. ICRT is the largest Reiki training organization in the United States, recognized by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. | Credential | :icon-award: |
| HS / Hidradenitis Suppurativa | hid-ra-DEN-ih-tis sup-yoo-ruh-TEE-vuh | A chronic, painful inflammatory skin condition causing recurrent abscesses and scarring, primarily in areas where skin rubs together. Driven in part by chronic cortisol dysregulation and immune dysfunction. Severely underdiagnosed and undertreated — especially in women. | Clinical | :icon-flame: |

## Staff Voices
From the People Who Work There
What Facility Staff Say
These are observations from nurses, charge nurses, and activity directors — the people whose professional judgment matters most to other clinical administrators.
| Quote | Attribution | Role | Context | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| I was skeptical — I'll say that plainly. I'm a retired RN. But I watched their vitals during the session and they were measurably different afterward. I'm a believer now. | Retired RN | Family member & clinical observer | Memory care unit, behavioral agitation management | :icon-stethoscope: |
| The group session was so peaceful. You could hear the whole room quiet down. Three residents who never interact just sat together and nobody wanted to leave. | Activities Director | Assisted Living Facility | Group session, common room, 11 residents — noted in activities log | :icon-users: |
| They came in agitated and wouldn't let the nurses near them. By the time she finished they were completely calm. I've never seen that before — without medication. | Charge Nurse (RN) | Skilled Nursing Facility | Post-hip replacement patient, severe pre-procedure anxiety | :icon-heart-pulse: |
| We didn't have to do anything differently. She checked in, did her work, and left a note. That's exactly what you want from an outside vendor — zero friction. | DON | Director of Nursing, Memory Care | After first contracted visit — vendor coordination observation | :icon-clipboard-check: |
| I didn't expect it to affect me too. I was just sitting in the room and I felt myself decompress. We deal with so much — having someone tend to us changes everything. | CNA | Certified Nursing Assistant | Staff wellness session, end-of-shift decompression | :icon-heart-handshake: |
| No call lights for 90 minutes after that session. Not one. On a memory care floor on a Tuesday afternoon — that doesn't happen. | Charge Nurse (LPN) | Memory Care Unit | Post-group session observation, afternoon shift | :icon-bell-off: |

## Insurance & Payment
Payment & Coverage
Why This Is Out-of-Pocket — And Why It's Still Worth It
Why isn't it covered?
Insurance reimbursement requires a CPT billing code. Biofield Therapy does not yet have a standardized CPT code, meaning it cannot be submitted to insurance regardless of its clinical outcomes. This is a coverage gap — not a quality gap. The same was true of acupuncture until 2020, when Medicare began covering it for chronic low back pain after decades of clinical evidence. Biofield Therapy is on the same trajectory.
What does it cost compared to?
| Item | Typical Cost | Note | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| One hospital parking day pass | $15 – $40 | Paid every single visit | :icon-car: |
| One month of daily coffee | $90 – $150 | A Biofield session is $65 | :icon-coffee: |
| Single ER visit copay | $150 – $400 | After insurance, before deductible | :icon-pill: |
| One physical therapy session copay | $40 – $75 | Comparable to a single Biofield session | :icon-activity: |
| Flower arrangement for their room | $40 – $80 | Fades in 5 days. A session lasts 30–60 min. | :icon-flower-2: |
| Hospital TV & phone daily fee | $10 – $25/day | Often charged automatically | :icon-tv: |
HSA & FSA — You May Already Have the Money
Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) can often be used for complementary health services — including Biofield Therapy — depending on your specific plan. Check with your HSA/FSA administrator. Many families are surprised to find they have unused funds that expire at year-end.
Action item: Call the number on the back of your HSA/FSA card and ask: <em>"Is Biofield Therapy or complementary nervous system regulation covered under my plan?"</em>
The Facility Amenities Route
If your loved one is in a facility, ask the Director of Nursing or Activities Director to add Hesperus Healing Sessions to their non-pharmacological wellness program. When a facility contracts with Megan directly, the cost is absorbed into the facility's operating budget — and families pay nothing. This is the most common path for ongoing care.
Script for families: <em>"I'd like to request that Hesperus Healing Sessions be added to your facility's wellness vendor program for my loved one."</em>
| Service | Cost | Duration | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Individual Bedside Session | $65 | 30 minutes | :icon-user: |
| Patient & Caregiver Couples Session | $100 | 45–60 minutes | :icon-users: |
| Free Staff Demo (Facilities) | $0 | 20 minutes | :icon-sparkles: |
One session costs less than most families spend on flowers, parking, and hospital TV in a single week of visits. And unlike those things, it does something.

## Before You Walk In
Before You Walk In
The 30 Minutes Before Your First Facility Visit
Knowing the pitch is only half the job. This is what separates a confident, professional first impression from an awkward one. Every detail here has been earned the hard way.
| Icon | Rule | Why It Matters | Do This |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| :icon-shirt: | Clean, fitted black or navy scrubs | You are walking into a medical facility. Scrubs signal you belong there. They communicate 'clinical' not 'spa.' | Yes |
| :icon-badge: | Lanyard with your name badge and business logo | Every clinical person in that building wears identification. Without one, you look like a visitor, not a vendor. | Yes |
| :icon-wind: | Absolutely zero fragrance — no perfume, no lotion, no essential oils | Immunocompromised and respiratory patients are throughout the building. Fragrance is a clinical liability. | No |
| :icon-gem: | Minimal jewelry — no dangling earrings, rings only if flat | Infection control. Same reason nurses don't wear rings in clinical areas. | No |
| :icon-footprints: | Clean, closed-toe shoes | Slip-resistant and professional. Sneakers are fine if clean. No sandals. | Yes |
| Icon | Item | Detail |
| --- | --- | --- |
| :icon-folder-open: | Pre-assembled Vendor Folder | Contains: 1-Page Proposal, COI, HIPAA agreement, CPR card, TB clearance. Have 3 extra copies in your bag. |
| :icon-credit-card: | Business Cards | At least 10. Leave one with the receptionist even if you see the Director. |
| :icon-notebook-pen: | Small notebook and good pen | Write down their name, title, and any details they share. It signals you take them seriously. |
| :icon-smartphone: | Phone on silent, face-down in pocket | You are in a medical facility. A ringing phone is unprofessional. Vibrate only. |
| :icon-droplets: | Travel hand sanitizer | Use it visibly before entering. It is a professional signal in clinical settings. |
What to Say at the Front Desk
**"Hi, my name is Megan. I'm a certified Biofield Therapy practitioner — I have an appointment with [Director Name] regarding an integrative wellness program for your residents. Could you let them know I'm here?"**<br><br>If you don't have a scheduled appointment: **"Hi, I'm Megan — I'm a local certified practitioner who works with facilities like yours. I'd love to drop off some information for your Director of Nursing or Activities Director. Who would be the best person to hand this to?"**
| Icon | Avoid Saying | Say This Instead |
| --- | --- | --- |
| :icon-x-circle: | "I do Reiki" | "I'm a certified Biofield Therapy practitioner" — Reiki triggers spa associations. Biofield Therapy is the clinical term. |
| :icon-x-circle: | "It works with energy fields" or "it's spiritual" | "It's a hands-free nervous system regulation technique used in over 800 hospitals." |
| :icon-x-circle: | "I just started" or "I'm new to this" | "I've facilitated over 300 documented sessions since certification in 2024." Let your credentials speak. |
| :icon-x-circle: | Asking for a contract or a 'yes' on the first visit | Ask only: "Would you have 20 minutes to experience a complimentary demonstration?" |
You are not asking for a favor. You are offering a clinical service that costs them nothing to try, reduces their PRN medication calls, satisfies their QAPI requirements, and has zero adverse effects in all published research. You are the solution to a problem they face every single shift. Walk in like you already know that.

| :icon-alert-circle: | Any holiday or holiday eve | Facilities are short-staffed and directors are stretched thin. Never. | No |

## Session Log Template
Session Documentation
The Leave-Behind That Proves Your ROI
Every session ends with a handwritten or printed log given to the charge nurse. This one-page document is what transforms you from a wellness vendor into a clinical partner. It feeds their QAPI reports, satisfies CMS documentation requirements, and builds the data case for renewing your contract.
| Icon | Reason |
| --- | --- |
| :icon-bar-chart-2: | Before/after anxiety scores give administrators measurable, documentable ROI they can present to their own superiors and include in QAPI reports. |
| :icon-shield-check: | It proves you followed clinical protocol — no PRN interventions needed, no nursing staff involvement, no adverse events. |
| :icon-refresh-cw: | Facilities that see consistent, documented improvement renew contracts. Facilities that don't have this data treat you as optional. |
| :icon-file-check: | CMS F-tag 675 requires documentation of comfort interventions. Your log satisfies this requirement automatically. |

| Icon | Tip |
| --- | --- |
| :icon-printer: | Print 20 blank copies before every shift. Never scramble to write one from memory. |
| :icon-user-check: | Always hand it directly to the charge nurse — not the receptionist. It signals clinical awareness. |
| :icon-archive: | Keep a copy for yourself. After 3–4 months, you'll have a portfolio of documented outcomes to use in contract renewals. |
| :icon-bar-chart: | Summarize across visits: 'Average anxiety dropped from 8.2 to 2.6 across 14 sessions this month.' That's a slide in their QAPI presentation. |
This document is not a medical record. It is a vendor activity log — no patient names, no diagnosis, no treatment claims. It documents comfort observations only.

## Objection Quick-Reference
In-The-Room Reference
Objection Quick-Reference
The 8 objections you will hear — word for word — and the exact response that works. Memorize these before every pitch meeting. You will need at least 3 of them.
| They Say | You Say | Follow-Up Move | Icon | Category |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| "We don't have the budget for this." | "I completely understand. That's actually why I offer a free 20-minute staff demonstration before any decision. The goal isn't to sell you anything today — it's just to let you and your team feel the physiological effect firsthand. Can we do that?" | If still no: leave your Family Brochures at their front desk so private families can hire you directly at $65/session. | :icon-dollar-sign: | Budget |
| "Is this evidence-based? I've never heard of it." | "Yes. A 2022 systematic review in Frontiers in Psychology — 14 placebo-controlled trials — found high-quality evidence it outperforms placebo for anxiety, stress, and depression. Hartford Hospital has documented 1,800+ sessions. It's in 800+ U.S. hospitals including MD Anderson and Cleveland Clinic. I have the research summary right here." | Hand them the 1-Page Proposal which has the citations on it. | :icon-shield-alert: | Credibility |
| "Our nurses are already overwhelmed." | "This was designed specifically for that. I check in at the nursing station, see patients independently, and check out. Nursing staff do nothing differently. I also leave a written session log so they don't have to document anything. It actually reduces call-light volume — which means less work for your nurses, not more." | Mention the PRN reduction data: 90 minutes post-session with zero call lights in documented memory care cases. | :icon-users-round: | Operations |
| "We have a lengthy vendor approval process." | "I have everything ready to go same day: COI, HIPAA BAA, TB clearance, CPR card, W-9, and a signed independent contractor agreement. If you use Vendormate or Symplr, I can register within 24–48 hours. I've prepared for this process specifically." | Open your Vendor Folder and lay the documents on the table one by one. | :icon-file-check: | Compliance |
| "This sounds like it might be spiritual or religious." | "I understand why it might sound that way — and I want to be direct: it requires no belief system, no spirituality, and no participation from the patient. It's a hands-free nervous system regulation technique. The patient stays in their bed. We can measure the physiological result. That's it." | Offer to show them the 'What This Is Not' section of the proposal. | :icon-brain: | Skepticism |
| "What if something goes wrong?" | "Zero adverse effects have been reported in any published research. The modality is 100% hands-free, has no contraindications with any medication or device, and I carry a $2M/$3M professional liability policy. I am also fully HIPAA compliant with a BAA signed before any patient contact." | Show them the COI directly from the folder. | :icon-shield-check: | Liability |
| "This isn't the right time. Try back in a few months." | "Of course — I'll follow up. Can I leave this folder with you in the meantime? And I'd love to leave a few family brochures at your front desk so your residents' families know this option exists, even while we figure out the right timing on the facility side." | This plants two seeds: a future facility contract AND immediate private-pay family clients. | :icon-clock: | Timing |
| "I'm not sure who would approve this." | "Totally understandable — it usually comes down to the DON or Administrator. Would you mind telling me who that would be here? I'm happy to schedule a quick call or drop off information for them directly." | Get the name and direct email before you leave. That's the only goal of this visit if the decision-maker isn't present. | :icon-help-circle: | Confusion |
The goal of your first visit is never a signed contract. It is always one of three things: a demo scheduled, a folder left with the right person, or a decision-maker's name and email in your notebook.

## Facility Target List
Your Sales Territory
Priority Facility Target List
These are your first 15 calls. Ranked by likelihood of yes — based on patient population fit, decision-maker accessibility, and competitive gap. Work this list in order.
| Facility Name | Type | City | Patient Population | Who to Ask For | Entry Strategy | Priority Tier | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| San Juan Regional Hospice & Palliative Care | Hospice / Palliative | Farmington, NM | End-of-life, pain management, terminal anxiety | Palliative Care Director or Hospice Coordinator | Lead with the Phase II cancer pain trial data. Hospice directors respond to peer-reviewed evidence. Request a 20-min staff demo immediately. | 1 | :icon-building-2: |
| The Bridge at Farmington | Skilled Nursing / Memory Care | Farmington, NM | Memory care, dementia, post-surgical rehab | Director of Nursing (DON) | Lead with sundowning reduction and call-light data. Mention QAPI documentation. Request a group session demo for 5–8 residents. | 1 | :icon-building-2: |
| BeeHive Homes of Farmington | Assisted Living | Farmington, NM | Assisted living residents, mild-moderate memory issues, chronic pain | Facility Manager or Owner-Operator | Small facility — owner often makes decisions. Emphasize zero staffing burden and the family satisfaction angle. A group session could serve the entire resident population at once. | 1 | :icon-home: |
| Life Care Center of Farmington | Skilled Nursing / Rehab | Farmington, NM | Post-surgical rehab, long-term care, chronic pain | Director of Nursing or Activities Director | Activities Directors are often easier first contacts than DONs. Lead with the group session format and resident satisfaction angle. Large facility = more patients per visit. | 1 | :icon-building-2: |
| Basin Home Health & Hospice | Home Health / Hospice | Farmington, NM | Home-based hospice, chronic illness, frail elderly | Clinical Director or Hospice Coordinator | Home health agencies can refer their own clients to you directly. This is a referral relationship, not a facility contract. Ask if they can include your info in their family resource packets. | 1 | :icon-heart-handshake: |
| Pinon Hills Rehabilitation | Rehabilitation / Skilled Nursing | Farmington, NM | Post-surgical, orthopedic recovery, neurological rehab | Director of Nursing | Lead with the 2018 lower back pain RCT showing Biofield Therapy equally effective as physiotherapy — faster and more cost-effective. Rehab directors appreciate outcome data. | 1 | :icon-building-2: |
| BeeHive Homes of Aztec | Assisted Living | Aztec, NM | Assisted living, mild dementia, chronic pain | Facility Manager | Same strategy as Farmington BeeHive. Aztec is 14 miles. A combined visit to both on the same day is efficient. | 2 | :icon-home: |
| La Plata Nursing Center | Skilled Nursing | Farmington, NM | Long-term care, dementia, end-of-life | Director of Nursing | Older facility with a large dementia population. Strong candidate for a group memory care session. Emphasize the QAPI documentation benefit. | 2 | :icon-building-2: |
| Sunrise of Farmington | Assisted Living / Memory Care | Farmington, NM | Memory care, assisted living, family-involved residents | Activities Director (first contact) then DON | Approach the Activities Director first — easier than DON. Frame it as a new wellness programming option. Let them champion it internally. | 2 | :icon-building-2: |
| San Juan Regional Medical Center | Hospital — Integrative Medicine | Farmington, NM | Acute care, oncology, surgical recovery, palliative | Integrative Medicine Department or Patient Services | Hospitals are the hardest but the highest-prestige win. Lead with the 800-hospital statistic and the Hartford Hospital data. This is a long-game pitch — plant the seed on visit 1, water it for 3 months. | 2 | :icon-building: |
| Caring Hearts Home Care | Home Health | Farmington, NM | In-home elderly, chronic illness, post-discharge recovery | Owner or Clinical Coordinator | Ask to be added to their vendor referral list. Home health agencies can direct families to you for private-pay sessions at $65/visit. | 2 | :icon-home: |
| Aztec Care Center | Skilled Nursing | Aztec, NM | Long-term care, chronic pain, dementia | Director of Nursing | Pair this visit with BeeHive Homes of Aztec on the same day. Same town, 14 miles from Farmington. | 2 | :icon-building-2: |
| Mercy Regional Medical Center — Integrative Services | Hospital / Integrative | Durango, CO | Oncology, surgical recovery, palliative care | Integrative Medicine or Patient Experience Director | Durango is 45 miles. A high-prestige hospital win. Lead with the clinical evidence and the MD Anderson / Cleveland Clinic association. Same long-game approach as SJRMC. | 3 | :icon-building-2: |
| Bloomfield Senior Living | Assisted Living | Bloomfield, NM | Assisted living, mild dementia, family-involved | Facility Manager or Activities Director | Bloomfield is 10 miles. Small facility. Owner-operated likely. Personal, relationship-first approach works best. | 3 | :icon-home: |
| Four Corners Regional Health Center | Critical Access Hospital | Shiprock, NM | Native American elderly, chronic pain, end-of-life, diabetes complications | Patient Services or Quality Director | Shiprock is 30 miles. Critical access hospitals serving underserved populations are often receptive to complementary care. Approach with cultural sensitivity and lead with the zero-contraindications angle. | 3 | :icon-building-2: |

## Your First Session
For the Patient
What to Expect in Your First Session
You do not have to do anything. You do not have to believe anything. You do not have to be awake. Here is what a session actually feels like — in plain language, from someone who will be right there with you.
You stay exactly where you are.
Your bed, your chair, your position. Nothing moves. Nothing is removed or adjusted. If you have medical equipment, tubes, or IVs, they are completely unaffected. I work around all of it.
No one will touch you.
My hands stay several inches above your body at all times. There is no physical contact, no pressure, no massage. If that changes at any point and you are uncomfortable, you say so and I stop immediately.
You don't have to believe in anything.
This is not spiritual. It is not religious. It does not require you to meditate, focus, or do anything at all. Many patients fall asleep. Some just notice their breathing slows. Some feel warmth or a sense of heaviness in their arms and legs. Some feel nothing — and still leave noticeably calmer.
How long does it last?
A standard individual session is 30 minutes. For patients who are very fatigued or highly acute, I may do 15–20 minutes. You will never be pushed. If you want to stop early, we stop. If you fall asleep and want to keep going, we keep going.
What You'll Notice
All of these responses are valid. There is no wrong way to receive a session.
After &amp; For Families
Questions before the session?
| Icon | Sensation | What It Means |
| --- | --- | --- |
| :icon-wind: | Breathing slows and deepens | Your parasympathetic nervous system is activating. This is the shift we are looking for. |
| :icon-thermometer: | Warmth or tingling in your hands, feet, or face | Circulation is normalizing as physical tension releases. Completely normal. |
| :icon-moon: | Falling asleep | One of the best possible responses. The body is using the session exactly as it should. |
| :icon-eye-off: | Eyes feeling heavy, hard to keep open | The nervous system is downshifting. Let it. |
| :icon-droplets: | Eyes watering, emotional release | Completely normal and healthy. The body releases stored tension in many forms. |
| :icon-minus-circle: | Nothing at all — just quiet | Also a valid outcome. Post-session anxiety scores consistently drop even in patients who report feeling nothing. |
What happens after?
You rest. Drink water if you can. Most patients report the calm feeling lasts 1–4 hours. Some report sleeping better that night. Nursing staff is never asked to do anything differently — I leave a brief observation note at the nurses' station and that is it.
A note for families in the room
You are welcome to stay. Many family members who sit in the room during a patient session find themselves unexpectedly calming down too. If you would like your own session afterward, I offer caregiver sessions for exactly this reason.

## Seasonal Programming
Programming Calendar
Annual Wellness Programming Opportunities
Facilities plan programming calendars months in advance. Here is how Hesperus Healing Sessions fits into your activity schedule year-round — as a recurring partner, not a one-time vendor.
Propose a 12-month programming calendar in your first contract discussion. It converts a trial booking into an annual partnership.
| Season / Month | Program Name | Format | Clinical Rationale | Primary Audience | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| September – October | Seasonal Transitions Group Sessions | Weekly group session · Up to 15 residents · 45 min | The shift from summer to fall triggers increased anxiety and depression in elderly patients with seasonal affective patterns. Cortisol regulation during daylight reduction is clinically significant. | Memory care & long-term care residents | :icon-leaf: |
| November – December | Holiday Grief & Comfort Series | Bi-weekly group or individual sessions · 30–60 min | The holiday season is clinically documented as the highest-anxiety period for elderly patients — particularly those experiencing loss, family separation, or dementia-related confusion about the holidays. | Hospice, memory care, and long-term residents | :icon-heart: |
| December – January | End-of-Year Staff Wellness Day | Half-day staff sessions · 30 min per staff member | Healthcare worker burnout peaks in Q4. A documented staff wellness event gives facilities a retention benefit to announce in January performance reviews — and generates immediate goodwill. | Nursing staff, CNAs, administrative teams | :icon-snowflake: |
| February — Valentine's Day Week | Patient & Caregiver Couples Session Week | Individual couples sessions · Patient + visiting family member · 45 min | Valentine's week is the highest-traffic family visit period of Q1. Couples sessions address anticipatory grief and caregiver burnout simultaneously — the only format that serves both patient and family in one session. | Patients with actively involved family members | :icon-heart-handshake: |
| March – April (Spring) | Renewal & Nervous System Reset Series | Weekly group session · 45 min | Spring is the most effective period to introduce new wellness programming — residents are responsive, family visit frequency increases, and facilities are preparing for summer state surveys. | All residents · Especially post-winter rehab patients | :icon-flower-2: |
| June – August (Summer) | Heat & Chronic Pain Management Sessions | Bi-weekly individual or group sessions | Summer heat amplifies chronic pain, inflammation, and HS/PCOS flares in susceptible patients. Cortisol regulation during heat stress has measurable impact on inflammatory condition management. | Chronic pain patients, HS/PCOS residents, post-surgical patients | :icon-sun: |
| Mother's Day & Father's Day Weeks | Family Comfort Sessions | Individual family sessions · 30 min | Family holidays in care facilities are emotionally complex — for both the patient and the visiting family. Offering comfort sessions during these windows creates a memorable, meaningful family experience that shows up in facility reviews. | Patients and their visiting family members | :icon-calendar-heart: |
| Quarterly — All Year | QAPI Documentation Cycle | Monthly session block with quarterly outcome reporting | CMS QAPI requirements mandate quarterly performance measurement. Monthly Biofield Therapy sessions generate consistent before/after anxiety data that directly feeds facility QAPI reports — making your contract a compliance asset. | Facility administrators and DONs | :icon-activity: |
The Monthly Retainer Package (from $450/mo) includes 4 visits per month and locks in scheduling priority across all seasonal programming. For facilities booking annual programming, ask about a discounted annual calendar rate.

## Staff Wellness Program
Staff Wellness Program
Your Nurses Are Burning Out. Here Is Something That Actually Helps.
Healthcare worker burnout is the #1 operational crisis in post-pandemic care facilities. Published research confirms Biofield Therapy produces immediate, measurable cortisol reduction in clinical staff. This is not a perk — it is a retention strategy.
| Statistic | Label | Source | Icon |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 47% | of nurses report emotional exhaustion — up from 34% pre-pandemic | Journal of Nursing Management, 2023 | :icon-trending-up: |
| $52,000 | average cost to replace one RN — including hiring, training, and lost productivity | NSI Nursing Solutions, 2023 | :icon-dollar-sign: |
| 1 in 5 | nurses plan to leave their current role within 12 months | American Nurses Foundation, 2022 | :icon-users: |
| Immediate | cortisol reduction in healthcare workers documented after a single Biofield Therapy session | Biological Research for Nursing, 2011 | :icon-activity: |
A 2011 study published in **Biological Research for Nursing** found that Biofield Therapy measurably reduced cortisol levels, normalized heart rate variability, and lowered skin temperature in healthcare professionals experiencing occupational burnout — after a single session. These are the same physiological markers tracked in clinical stress research.
| Icon | Format | Duration | Rate | Best For |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| :icon-user: | Individual Staff Session | 30 minutes | $65 – $85 / session | End-of-shift decompression for charge nurses, DONs, or floor CNAs |
| :icon-users: | Small Group Staff Session | 45 minutes | $85 – $120 / group | Nursing team wellness check-in · Up to 5 staff members at once |
| :icon-calendar-heart: | Quarterly Staff Wellness Day | Half-day | Custom rate · typically $300 – $500 | Annual retention benefit · Staff appreciation events · Q4 burnout season |
| :icon-star: | Add-On to Facility Contract | Included in block | Discounted when bundled with patient contract | Facilities adding staff wellness to an existing patient care contract |
How to Pitch This to Your Administrator
Frame it as a retention tool, not a wellness perk. **"One nurse turnover costs this facility $52,000. A quarterly staff wellness session costs $300–500 and has documented cortisol reduction after a single session. If it keeps one nurse here six months longer, it pays for itself 100 times over."**
A note from the floor: One of the most powerful testimonials in this entire deck came from a CNA who sat in the room during a patient session and said she could feel herself decompress — without intending to. Staff wellness sessions are often discovered this way before they're ever formally offered.

How to Pitch It

Offer your Director of Nursing or Administrator a complimentary 20-minute staff demo — before any patient sessions are scheduled. This is consistently the single most persuasive selling tool in the entire facility pitch.

## Deck Corrections
Deck Polish & Consistency
Corrections & Consistency Fixes
Three accuracy issues identified in this deck that affect professionalism and credibility. Each has a specific fix.
Fix 1 — Pronoun Consistency in Testimonials
All patient references in testimonials have been updated to gender-neutral language (e.g., <em>"their vitals"</em> and <em>"They came in agitated"</em>). This ensures professional consistency across all testimonials and respects patient privacy while maintaining the clinical integrity of the observations.
Update applied: All testimonials verified for gender-neutral patient references.
Fix 2 — Website URL
The website URL has been corrected to **www.hesperushealingsessions.com** on the Closing, Pitch Email, and Proposal slides. All digital and printed assets are now aligned under the Hesperus Healing Sessions brand.
Update applied: Domain corrected to www.hesperushealingsessions.com across all slides.
Fix 3 — Session Count Date Anchor
All session count references have been updated to **"300+ documented sessions since certification in 2024."** This phrasing is evergreen and professionally anchors the count to your credentialing date.
Update applied: Phrasing updated to 'since certification in 2024' deck-wide.
